Q: does this have to go high?

I have mind around 1 metre from the ground (just over 3 feet) , but it is dependent on the individual site, avoiding the prevailing wind, rain and bright sunlight. I have seen a natural Robin’ s nest at ground level, obviously in a cat free area, in the countryside. Nope, not done it. But they are great nests. We had Robins in ours
