Q: Question for the seller. Where is the red wire for + (positive) as advertised? All the tabs in all pictures are black.

The black pieces are plastic sleeves meant to be removed so you can solder the battery to other ones to create a battery pack. The + is the small circle of metal (top) and the - is the larger metal circle (bottom), similar to a regular ‘c’ cell battery. These batteries are not meant to go in regular devices, but to be used to replace battery packs in power equipment.

D-4/5c1200 P is not compatible.

Q: How can you tell which side is positive etc when both ends are wrapped in black?

You can check the positive and negative poles of the battery
