3 sheets of 0.5mm styrene sheet 305mm x 152mm (12" x 6")This thickness is flexible but still has some inherent rigidity so is quite versatile in scratch-building. It can be bent into a variety of shapes; cones, cylinders; can be used structurally in small scale models, but will need some stiffening in larger components. Versatile material for model makers
If you’re looking for styrene, then you already know what it is and what it’s used for. There are a few manufacturers of styrene sheets (or styrene profiles) and some also happen to be different plastics, evergreen seems to be one of the highly regarded manufacturers of this stuff, I know that many model makers who were employed by ILM when they had a model shop pretty much use evergreen, that’s a good enough recommendation for me.It’s a really great material for modelling, you light think it’s used for buildings, but it’s useful way beyond that, space ships (ILM - Star Wars) are commonly scratch built from this material, and the different thicknesses can be used on the surface to create panels and other details.Working with it is easy, you can simply score and snap and your parts will come away, no need to cut all the way through, this stuff is made to be quick to work with.Make sure you save all the little scraps, they can be used for small details, use everything and waste nothing.I did have to buy a glue elsewhere, Amazon don’t seem to carry the preferred glues for it, but it’s available elsewhere, although it can be hard to find here in the UK, in the USA it’s much more readily available. It’s a strong and easy material to work with, and beyond the building phase, you can use either brushed or airbrushed primer and then paints to colour your model, it works incredibly well with an airbrush and you can easily get a high quality finish. It’s not the cheapest material, but it’s definitely worth the money.
