Hi Kristine. I never mixed 2 different colors because I have short hair and that would give me way too much dye to treat my hair. You might want to look for a "middle color" between dark and light Brown. Like number 47 or 46 as an example. I use 48 and it's pretty dark.

Q: How many boxes will I need for long thick hair?

This is the only hair dye I use. I have a lot of gray and it covers my gray very very well. This hair dye actually makes me look 15 years younger. Seriously. I’m 46 and still get carded for alcohol. I use 2 boxes because my hair is thick and because of the amount of gray I have. The amount of coverage for the 2 boxes is based on 1” of new growth. I hope this helps you.

I’m not a man nor do I have a beard, but I do know that Bigen is, without question, the most comfortable hair dye that I’ve ever used. To my joyful surprise, it lasted as long as any and every dye I ever used AND without damaging my hair! Last but not least, it is the most easily affordable so you know I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! Have you checked if Bigen might possibly have dye that’s made especially for men’s facial hair? I recommend that you check into it before you try regular Bigen on your face. IF by chance you decide to try, please test it first on a small portion to BE SAFE.
