This game is similar to Cover Your Assets in the idea of the game, but with more stealing! (Plus, “booty” is a cuter word for people to constantly be joking about than “asset” in a household where clean language is important.)You’ve just got to have a mindset that you can’t possibly protect all your treasure all the time and it’s fun! The coins were a pleasant surprise in that they are actually made of metal and sound like real treasure when you clink them around in their little bag. The cards are great quality, and the BEST part? The box. We were SO relieved that the box simply fits what’s inside! Lots of games make boxes bigger than their contents and it drives us crazy to store something so big for no reason, but this one fits the cards, coins, and instructions comfortably and snugly. Not to mention it looks like a treasure chest and is extremely satisfying to slide open.The game is fun! We’ve played it with 2 players and 4 so far. Both ways were enjoyable, and it’s a simple game. You don’t have to think too hard because there’s always a chance your strategy will get interrupted by a pirate stealing your booty!We have been happy with our purchase and have enjoyed pulling out the game every time!

I bought this game for my games group a couple of months ago. So far we have played it with 2, 3, and 4 players. It will work with just 2, but there is much more excitement and game dynamics with more players. It has quickly become a favorite with everyone who has played it. The quality of the game is good and it's well worth the price. One odd thing is the only review on YouTube I can find is the video that's produced by the maker, which goes by the name of this game. Some of the rules are a little vague, and open to interpretation. Although I have found this to be the case with many other games too. For example, can a player play more than 1 challenge card per turn, and against the same opponent again? But this game is definitely worth checking out. I think that most people will find it enjoyable.

Play this game whenever we have friends over, it's very easy for anyone to pick up, very entertaining, the more people you have the better pace goes and the appearance of the game and cards is fun where it's pirate themed

I loved how unique and friendly the game was. What I like the most actually was the video that is attached to help learn to play the game. There wasn't much of the "lets figure this out as we go" or "I'm confused so lets play something else". Overall a good unique game that is fun to play in a group setting and I imagine with a family as well!

This game is easy to learn and so much fun. My granddaughter is nine and we bought it for her birthday. We are both addicted! It’s quick too. Not dragged out where they lose attention. She started figuring out strategies very quickly. My compliments to whoever created this game.It was missing the little black bag for the coins though. Only thing disappointing.

I want to like the game, but I'm immediately bummed out after opening the package.There is no felt bag for the coins as clearly shown in multiple images of their marketing.One star reduction for fast advertising, one star reduction for replacing the felt bag with a plastic zip bag : (Will play a game with friends and see if it cheers me up, but so far, disappointed from just opening the package.

My family loves board games, and we love supporting new indie games that come recommended to us. A colleague of mine received Pirate's Booty in a holiday gift exchange and had good things to say about it, so we bought it and were pleased to find out the hype was worth it. If you play a lot of board games, you'll get the hang of it right away as there are some similarities to a few other games in this genre, but different enough that it still feels totally unique and on-par with the game's theme. Speaking of theme, the instructions are awesome. I love when game designers put time and detail into making their original vision come alive in the game manual. I highly recommend Pirate's Booty as a welcome addition to the family game closet.

This has honestly been the funnest game we’ve played in a while! It was easy to learn and play, simple rules to follow. Everyone we’ve played with has commented on how fun the game is, we always have a blast! Do yourself a favor and BUY IT!!
