Q: Can I safely use this on a silicone mat?

I use mine n marble and wood but a silicone mat should be fine. It’s a great bench scraper

Q: What is the handle made out of?

Never really thought to figure out what the handle was made of. Just enjoyed using it as I find it very useful. In my opinion, it looks & feels like a hard rubber product. Has no give to it when you squeeze or attempt to bend it. I use it almost daily and would definately purchase it again.

Q: Did anyone use it to smoothe icing on a cake?

Not yet, but I can now see that it would be very useful for icing smoothing. I didn’t think of it before reading this question.
