Do introducing minerals (calcium and magnesium) recreate the hard water that my water softener removed? does it cause scaling? what is the gpg level?

Good questions. This system will waste 1 gallon per 1 gallon purified when used as directed. You can find this information in the product description in the "RO System Chart". All of our RO system will filter down to 0.001 microns which is just slightly larger than the water molecule itself. In order for a system to be properly labeled "reverse osmosis" it must filter down to at least 0.002 microns to meet that definition.

I installed the unit in the basement, about 15' horizontally and 5' below the spigot. I built a small shelf just below the floor joists to hold the tank and filters. There is plenty of pressure to fill a 16 oz. glass in a few seconds. I got extra tubing for that distance from Home Master - excellent people to work with!
