Tremendous value
TL;DR: This is the first Gerber piece I've purchased, and I'll definitely buy from them again. PROS: Small. Feels high-quality. Knife is easy to deploy (i.e., if you place it correctly in your pocket and practice, you could hand the clip to a thief while removing the knife relatively covertly if you so choose.) Easily fits 5 cards and more bills. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that you just put your bills under your cards under the clip so it's easy to put them all in: plastic doesn't tear easily, paper does. It's tight enough that it would rip bills if you just try to jam them in, but that gives it the strength to keep everything secure, too. Also, I have no problem pulling the knife out when it's full. If you do, you're putting too much into it, and will probably bend the metal quickly and make the clip useless soon anyway. CONS: The composite edge of the clip had a few sharp points sticking out of the side. Easy to fix, though: Snap the knife out and cut them off. NEUTRALS: The metal on mine is more of a golden-copper-green color than the neon shown in the pics here. I dig it though; much more my style. Also, to the people who want to carry this through TSA: If you don't want to have it taken, don't take it with you. Finally: Nothing against Gerber, but you can get this for about 1/3 the price on Amazon versus their site--and it's a tremendous deal.

Really solid product. Poor Choice for quick draw knife fights.
This is a substantial money clip, good heft for its size. All of the other reviews are correct- with more than a few bills and 4 or so cards, the knife is difficult to remove with out sliding the credit cards down an inch or so. I really don't mind in the slightest, as I didn't purchase this for frequent quick draw knife fights, in any event, this is a poor knife fighting knife, though easily sharpened and quite nice for small utility needs (such as opening other packaging from Gerber- seriously guys, I shouldn't need the knife in the package to open the package that the knife is in) I DID purchase this because I liked the look of the clip and wanted one that would last. In that respect, I think this one is a winner- it appears to be very durable, and I expect to use it for many years to come (just not when i'm flying).

Great money clip. Sub par knife.
When I carry cash I prefer to carry it in my front pocket, in a money clip. It never hurts to have an extra blade on you. Two is One, One is None and whatnot. I bought this primarily as a money clip. This is the second Gerber product I've purchased in as many years, after 7 years of staying away from the brand due to quality and safety issues I experienced with a few of their products. Their quality is above average to good. The construction of this item is solid. Very good fit and finish. Money Clip is good & tight. I can carry 20+ bills folded in half (I carry cards in a different manner). The G10 gives it a nice feel. The blade retention clip is pretty good. It does drag across the blade and will eventually wear the finish. Cosmetic, not a fuctionality issue. My biggest con with this thing is how little real estate you actually get on the grip. There are a few ways to grip this thing, but none of them are suitable for dynamic knife useage (such as self defense). To me, the blade is a last ditch useage item at best, and at worst a gimmick. Check out my pics to get an idea of how little purchase you actually get. If you have fat fingers, good luck. I have average fingers. Now, if you're a gear junkie, this has a cool factor. If you're looking for a handy pocket knife, buy an actual pocket knife. It's like Gerber said "we make knives, but we wanna make a money clip, so let's put a blade in it!!!" Granted, this one of a series of "lifestyle" pieces Gerber has introduced, and some are more functional and useful. Unfortunately, this one just isn't. Parting suggestion: Gerber, if you ever do a Version 2 of this, I have 4 or 5 designs I'd gladly sell you to make this as functional as it is cool.

Great little knife
My husband likes this little knife and keeps it in his bag. It's very compact and sleek unlike a usual pocket knife that is a bit bulky.

Hidden knife / money clip!
Great quality and perfect size if you don’t want to carry a pocket knife looks like a money clip.

Okay but could be better.
Great knife for the right person. The knife is very sharp out of the box. But it's too small to grip or to be safe for my hands. For reference I'm 6'3" 225lbs. One other thing is that the money clip itself is larger than you would expect. The reverse side has “Gerber” in large laser engraving. If you we hoping to be incognito with security, anyone who has seen anything Gerber will see it as a red flag. If they textured the grip and got rid of the logo if give it 4 stars.

handy, versatile pocket knife
Most of my adult life I have carried some kind of pocket knife. A pocket knife and a flashlight are two things that can make your everyday life so much easier and having one of each makes me better prepared at all times. When I need to open a package or cut a string or plastic tie, I want to be able to grab a sharp blade, use it, and put it away securely. Often I will already have my hands full at the time, so one-handed operation is important. I bought this money clip knife intending to use it for it's intended purpose, but soon discovered a variation that works much better for me. Instead of using it as a money clip, I use the clip to attach the kinife to my pants pocket. With the clip on the outside, the knife part is secure inside my pocket. I can access the knife by slipping my thumb inside the pocket, release the blade and remove it in one easy motion. The clip and the rest of the case stay in place. Replacing the blade after use is relatively easy also, though a little bit of practice makes that process go smoother. For putting the knife away, the blade needs to be lined up just right with the case. One important point needs to be stressed here: THIS IS NOT A SELF-DEFENCE KNIFE. I read some comments and questions here from people fantisizing about using this blade against attackers or to defend themselves. DON'T even think about it! It's not that kind of knife and it would never work for that. This knife will stay handy and secure in my pocket. When I need it, it is easy to withdraw and them put safely away. The blade was very sharp right out of the box but it stays put until I need it.
