Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Illustrated Edition

Beautiful book. Bought this as a present for my daughter in law as she has all the others of this collection.

Great book and beautiful illustrations

When Harry Potter first came out I managed to read the first 3 then stopped to have a family and then Harry was forgotten. Now I am older I have got back into the Wizarding World and it’s brilliant! I read the first 3 books on my kindle and although I have the others on ebook (thank you Kindle unlimited) I thought you can’t beat a real book and a book with illustrations will help get my imagination going! When it was delivered I thought they had sent 2 books as the parcel was very heavy! This book is HUGE it’s fantastic. A lot of people have been hating about the illustrations - do not listen to them, they are fabulous. There are a lot of pictures, small ones, double pages, single pages, page boarders, tiny badge pictures, descriptive diagrams, illustrations that you would find in a guide book, pictures on pages with writing over the top - they are all fantastic. I will admit most of the illustrations are very surreal and remind me of “The Waste Land” or “Alice in Wonderland”. The book is really well put together and has a fabulous dust cover and silk book mark. Amazon currently has it for half the rrp which is incredible value and this book will be treasured for a long time. The only ‘bad’ point is the text is quite small (even though the pages are huge) but it’s not a problem. I recommend this book for any Harry Potter fan especially if you like your drawings a bit off the wall and you don’t hold any preconceptions about how the characters should look.

I am 14 and have lost count of the number of times I have read the Harry Potter series. I bought this book in September and I am really glad i did because it is an excellent addition to my Harry Potter book collection (I have my Mum’s old books and hardback 2015 (I think) copies as well, which I would recommend) the illustrations in this book are beautiful, however, I do have a slight grumble, which is that there are fewer pages with illustrations in them in than in the previous three. I understand that this is a larger book and that Jim Kay was being rushed by many fans, however I would have preferred quantity over speed and I wouldn’t have minded paying a few extra galleons for more drawings. Hopefully, in Order of the Pheonix, which comes out in October, there will be more illustrations. This book would be good for reading to children, however I am not sure if it is suitable for young kids… there are some scary bits… if you want advice I think I first read this book when I was eight and I didn’t get nightmares, however, I watched the Philosopher’s Stone when I was seven and I got nightmares so I wouldn’t watch this film until I am at least eleven. (I first watched this film when I was thirteen, but I am not a fan of the films and after watching the first I only watched them with friends). I would recommend getting this book if, like me, you like collecting Harry Potter books.

Firstly i will point out my copy does have a printing error one of the pages didnt get cut to size nice suprise to find lol As a huge fan of the Harry potter books so much so that I have them all in first edition hard back, first edition paper back and kindle edition also have the Hogwarts collection in collectors edition, first edition hardback and illustrated ! So why buy this well ? in answer it had to be done lol :) I'm so pleased I bought this it is a beautiful book yes its large and heavy not a book to take on a train or bus however the illustrations are stunning and beautifully done , yes people may complain they don't match the film's but why should they ? the film's also missed out so much of the books that they leave people who haven't read the books confused lol so personally I don't think it actually matters that the characters don't look like they have been taken from the film This book has been well presented and makes a great addition to anyone's collection or even a gift to a child who hasn't read the books, this will make a great gift for any fan of the books or in my case a nice book to add to a collection . I'm looking forward to getting the rest of these illustrated books I just hope we don't have to wait ten years this time to own the full collection

I have bought all 5 of the Harry Potter Illustrated Editions by Jim Kay, who's drawings are incredible, for my grand daughter who is 7. Only into to the 3rd edition, she is thoroughly enjoying the read and especially the illustrations. Amazing books, definitely worth the money.

A fabulous addition to my grandchildrens collection of Harry Potter books

I have been reading the illustrated editions of Harry Potter with my 8 year old. It is a beautiful way to share the magic with a new generation of Potter fans. My son has waiting patiently for this book since reading The Prisoner of Azkaban, having chosen to continue to wait for the illustrated editions rather than reading the exsisting editions. When it arrived he couldn’t wait until bedtime and insisted we read the first chapter straight away. It reminds me of queuing at midnight on realease day to buy each new Harry Potter when I was a child. I love how these these books help to inspire my sons love of reading and it’s a pleasure to share them with him. The illustrations are brilliant quality and very beautiful. My son treasures his illustrated copies and perhaps share them with his own children one day. Well done to Jim Kay for finding a way to add even more magic to this series for old and new fans alike.

Excellent, as usual, work by Jim Kay bring to life yet another installment in the Harry Potter story. The book itself is large and heavy and makes an impression. Great as a gift - whether to someone else or yourself.

Bu kitap Türkçe baskıya göre daha kaliteli, kuşe kağıt desem yanlış olmaz. Türkçe baskısı bildiğiniz gibi kuşe kağıt değil, normal beyaz kitap kağıdına benziyor. Kargo zamanında geldi, kitapta herhangi bir hasar yoktu. Türkçe baskılardaki gibi naylon bir poşetle kaplanmamış, sanırım orijinali böyle satılıyor. Bir puan kırmamın sebebi (hatta iki puan kırmak istiyordum) kitapta çok az resim var. Kitap oldukça kalın olmasına rağmen, resimler gerçekten az. Bazı bölümlerde hiç resim yok. Yani olmamış bence bu kitap. Önceki kitaplar iyiydi. Bir sonraki kitap olan Zümrüdüanka Yoldaşlığı nasıl olacak çok merak ediyorum! O çok çok daha kalın. Fiyatı da fena değildi 249 liraya aldım.

You can't go wrong with any of the Harry Potter books. I love the beautiful illustrations. Same original story.
