Very sturdy and strong. Easy to install. Just read all directions before installing. I skipped a step and had to drill a new hole in the bar beacause the holes for the padlock would not line up because I skiped that step. Easy fix with my buddies drill press though. I installed alone and was not terribly difficult, but a second person is recommended. The lock with the alarm is a great feature. The alarm can also be used without the alarm. I recently had some rods stolen from my boat on a camping trip. I bought this immediately after. Great peace of mind.

I really like the product. I screwed up when installing and had to egg out one of the holes for the padlock. I wish they would STRESS how critical it is to get it right before drilling.

Very expensive stainless steel pole with a lock. Knew that before purchase but will explain. For $250, a new owner should not have to drill holes. Luckily I have a large drill press but not happy with cost and work to drill holes in a round tube to fit my Champion 210 bass boat. Drill with slow RPMs and water to cool 3/8s bit. Probably will not keep someone out of the lockers if they truly want in and will likely damage fiberglass on boat upon break-in. With that being said, better than nothing (other than -$250+) as most insurance carriers want to see your boat "broken in" before they are willing to pay for a claim for missing fishing poles/reels, spare propellers, life jackets, and tackle. Think of this purchase as insurance for you insurance, particularly if you travel away from home.

I paid fiberglass boat repair shop to install as I didn't want anything to go wrong cutting holes in my Ranger z521. Once installed, it works as described, great theft deterrent. Alarm lock is LOUD when tripped. Lock has setting that allows you option to use alarm or not but still lock which is good while towing to avoid false triggers. I was warned by several guys to use caution when putting bar on or removing as the heavy duty steel bar can quickly slide through and if your not careful, damage your fiberglass. A bit pricey for what it is but overall a great investment to help protect your gear.
