Great product ! Bought this for my son. Easy to install. Good looking product. Field of view is excellent and the quality of image is very good too. My only niggle of any is the removal of the cover to fit the micro SD card is difficult to remove and not self-intuitive so wax always concerned I was going to break it by removing it - the instructions should be clearer about this ! Connectivity to a mobile phone is very straightforward and provides an additional element of security. Over all, great product and works really well.

While the night view is decent, it’s not ground-breaking – number plates are visible, but at distances beyond 50 yards, they become difficult to read. Still, for general use, the footage remains reliable. 🔋 Hardwire Kit & Smart Battery Protection I opted for the hardwire kit to keep the dash cam permanently powered, and it’s a great addition. One standout feature is the built-in voltage protection, which automatically cuts off power if it detects the car’s battery dropping below a safe level. This is an excellent safeguard against draining the car battery, especially when using parking mode. which monitors your car for up to 6 hours after switching off the engine. 🖥️ User Interface & App – Needs Improvement While the dash cam’s hardware is good, the user interface and mobile app could be more intuitive. Navigating through recorded clips isn’t as smooth as it could be, and the layout feels slightly clunky. It would benefit from a more user-friendly design with better playback controls to make reviewing footage easier. It feels like a Chinese product which has somewhat been poorly adapted to English speaking market if you know what i mean. ✅ Final Verdict The Road Angel Halo Drive Dash Cam is a high-quality and reliable option with great video performance, solid build quality, and useful features like smart battery protection. The night view is acceptable, though not perfect, and the app experience could be improved. However, these minor drawbacks don’t take away from the overall excellent experience. This is a simple and very effective dashcam which gives good quality videos. It has the right feature set (no unnecessary GPS), good connectivity and reasonable software app. App not especially intuitive but improves with use. My only reservation is that the camera cannot be removed without unsticking the mounting. Needs a 5v supply - use a 12v to 5v converter available on this site at low cost rather than the expensive connection kit. Pricing very good for performance.

Update....... Having come to download some footage today (directly off the SD card - see my review below as to why), the morning of the date in question is missing. It hasn't been deleted due to age, the card is huge and much older footage is present. Having scrolled back through all the stored footage on the camera, random journeys are missing. It's either not recording them at all, or deleting sections to make space on the card randomly, rather than getting rid of the old footage first. Either way, it's not reliable.... Don't waste your money! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The app is basically useless (iOS 14.5.1). Can’t download videos to my phone or do anything beyond viewing the live video for just long enough to set the camera up, and turn off the annoying notification noises. The camera itself though works well. The video is decent quality, sound is ok, it’s small and easy to hide in the car. Just a bit irritating having to remove the memory card to get at the footage.

Not the easiest to set up, even after buying a different Road Angel product for a different vehicle. I needed to ring the help line as the instructions are quite vague in places, despite downloading and printing a complex handbook. However the quality of the video is proven, after checking a recent video. The video is excellent and all indec nu. Bets can be seen, unlike a cheaper one I bought online and have now thrown away.

I specifically didn’t want a dash cam with a big screen and this Road Angel fits the bill. Very easy to set up, nice long cable for installation behind interior trim and simple functionality. I especially like the fact that when I turn the car on it starts up automatically and likewise switches off when the car is off. I’ve had no issues with connecting the to the dash cam via WiFi - app is easy to use for quick access to the live preview or recordings.
