It helps with my IBS-d. I have a SEVERE case of it. When Imodium doesn't work, I use this. Taste isn't bad either. I mix in 1/2 cup of water.

I do not like all the medicines that basically slow down the peristaltic movements that keep all the water in the guts. This medicine does not increase the re absorption of the liquid like another French medicine but at least will decrease the leakage of water to the guts

I am someone that loves to travel. There are some parts of the world that you know you are going to have a problem and so you have to be prepared. I ordered this box for our trip to Mexico. While restaurants and bars now all give you filtered water, you still end up with issues as everything is grown and washed in their tap water. For me, Smecta stopped the problem without binding me up with one sachet. For my husband, he had to take several sachets, over the course of a day, to stop the problem. Neither one of us experienced the typical constipation that Immodium causes. We put the sashets in a small bottle of water and shook. The powder does not disperse well if you don't have something to stir with. For the people that complained the box was not sealed. Mine was not either but the box was intact, all the sachets were there and sealed.
