It costs a bit to get 1TB of storage but in 2023, I just can’t get anything smaller. Considering how much data is generated when recording in 4K with the highest settings, 1TB seemed like the only way to go. More would have been too expensive, at least with this particular brand and at the time of purchase. Plugging it in to my Atomos Ninja V+, the drive fits perfectly hand-in glove, formatted quickly and provides the full stated amount of storage. I appreciate the secure erase functionality. If you want the recording gone, like really gone, you can do it with secure erase. Check the Atomos device compatibility list to see which drives work with your Atomos device and the available functionality for the specific drive.

perfect for Ninja Ultra monitor. High speed recording at high bit rates make it a perfect. fit. It doenldnt extend past the ninja Slides in without any additional cages.

I like the compact size and its read/write speeds. It seems to be built very robustly. I am using it with an Atomos Ninja V recorder/monitor and a Nikon Z7 camera.

From my perspective, if you have an Atomos the important feature is to record in ProRes RAW, if you're doing that you need solid fast media. Angelbird is it. If you use other brands it's a bit hit or miss, I don't want to bother with things that sometimes work and sometimes don't

Tried several cheap off-brand units, none of them were any good. Dedicated write speed is important if you record at 400mps. Otherwise your file will show up in about 47 segments.

This keeps the Ninja V footprint small and compact. The ssd is fast and reliable. Highly recommend it.

Why is this a must? Because it doesn't extend pass the monitor. So everything is nice and tight and flush with the edges. Just sucks you are paying a premium for the shorter SSD here. I can confirm that it records 8K via an R5 without an issue. That and 4K60 10bit 4:2:2 Even the 500GB drive works well

If shooting 4K DCI at 60fps is of importance to you then I highly recommend this Atomos drives

I tried using other drives on my Atomos Ninja and was constantly having issues recording at 60FPS 4K. No write issues with this item. Fast but expensive.
