Great complement for the Archos 605!!!!
This DVR station is the best complement for the Archos 605 because it charges the device in about 3 hours. Its really smaller than I thought and really light. I have made a trip or two and I can just take the DVR station with me without running out of space in my backpack. Conecting the Archos 605 to the TV is really easy. The remote control is really great for managing everything on the TV. In total, GREAT PRODUCT!!!! The service on Amazon.com was terrific. The packages were right on time, they were sealed and in perfect shape. The best thing is that I could monitor my purchase during the entire delivery time, which I did practically every 3 hours because of the excitement. It was just a breeze to buy it here, besides it was the best price I could find in the market (and trust me, I spend about 5 months looking this product everywhere online). I TOTALLY recomend buying it here!!!!!!

Excellent accessory for the Archos 605 Wifi media player
This docking station works beautifully with my home entertainment center, enabling me to play music, video, and photo slideshows on my Archos 605 WiFi media player on my TV and sound system. I can also connect to my wireless network to access network files and the Internet. Response time through the provided remote can be a little slow, but with a little perseverance I can do *most* of the things I want without trying my wife's patience. I haven't tried recording DishNet TV through my satellite receiver yet, but I will post again once I've attempted that trick.

Great minus the program guide
I mainly bought this for the remote control. It makes an expensive remote control but there are no other options out there (that I could find). So far I've owned it for about 3 weeks and performs as advertised, except for the program guide. Only certain countries can use the program guide. There is a list somewhere on the Archos website. Not a big deal breaker - just means I have to use the program function just like a vcr. Recordings are good quality and the bitrate can be varied to save space on your archos. I have an 80Gb 605 so there are no worries about space. The remote works great and the unit charges your Archos while it's docked. You can also use the unit as a usb interface between your computer, or an external hard drive or thumb drive. It has ports for both USB and Mini USB. One good use for the dvr is to play videos that the Archos can't play. Eg some H264 videos won't play, and HD video has a resolution that is too high for it. The DVR can be used to record these files (in real time) through the video card on a computer (provided it has a TV out). For some reason the quality of HD (high defintion) video suffers when recorded to the Archos, even on the highest bitrate. This may something to do with downsizing the image from 1080 or 1280 to 640 pixels. I'm still experimenting with this. All up the device does what it's supposed to do, except for the program guide, which can only be used in certain countries.

Great Product to have
This is a must have product if you buy the Archos 605. It enables you to record from your TV and also enables you to play any videos you downloaded to your archos on your television. Also, the station enables you to charge your Archos PMP player much faster than the standard connection it comes with.

Not worth it.
bought the ARCHOS 605 WIFI thinking I was going to have a great device and then found out each thing I wanted to do I had to get a plug-in for Internet or for certain format of videos or in this case the DVR station to download directly from my satelite connection. They don't tell you it doesn't work with DirecTV, only with DISH (if you buy the plug-in, $39) and if you want you are told you can sign up online and register the product and then they'll make accesible a TV guide programming for your area; two weeks and nothing, their system kept telling me "no tvguide programming available in your area". I live in San Francisco, CA. !!! CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS TOO. if you're lucky for them to answer the phone (i tried many times, more than 20 times in 2 weeks, and the only time they answer the phone, took 20 minutes wait with a voice saying, "you're very important to us" (LOL) the other times I would put the phone in speaker phone and run errands in the house while on hold and the longest it went was 40 minutes.... when i realized i'd forgotten about the call and the phone was still going on and on "your call is very important to us" THIS COMPANY SUCKS>

Works and Charges at the same time, Very nice!!!!
Just place unit in it and watch a movie, videos or picture slideshow off it and it charges it at the same time. I like it very much and small enough to be conveinant.

Good docking station, TERRIBLE DVR
The GOOD: If you want to dock your Archos to your TV or you Entertainment Sytem to listen to music, watch video, or browse the web, this is cool The remote is a much better interface for web browsing than the archos itself. The BAD: If you want a DVR, forget it. 1. The DVR station does not have a tuner. This means that you have to make sure that your TV (cable box, etc) is on the right channel and you cannot watch anything else at the same time. 2. Only unprotected recorded video can be watched on your TV. If the original video stream is pretected (like most DVDs), you can only watch the recorded video on the Archos screen, NOT on the TV screen. You also can't watch your protected recorded video anywhere else like your PC. Some folks claim that some cable/dish providers protect ALL their content. That would mean that you could only record with your VHF antenna, until that's obsolete next year. SUMMARY: I think it's a good product that may be worth $85 as an entertainment docking station with remote for your Archos. It's a horrible DVR.
