Must have for older cameras
Before going exclusively with Wein cells I made the mistake of trying "adapters " which are all over Ebay. Yes you can fit an LR44 or SR44 battery in the adapter and the adapter perfectly fits the battery compartment of your classic camera. Unfortunately, it does nothing to reduce the voltage of the 1.5 volt modern battery to the 1.35 volts of the old mercury cells for which the cameras were designed. You not only get inaccurate light meter readings, but in a few cases the camera will not work at all! Save yourself some time, trouble (and money) by investing in the Wein cells. You will have a much more satisfying experience with your classic camera. (And BTW I have heard rumors that the next big thing in batteries may be silicone-air type, which will relegate all others to the horse-and-buggy Era. If only the voltage can be regulated!!)

Keeps old film cameras working
The Wein 1.35v zinc-air cells in 625/PX-13 packaging will fit in and power millions of 1960s-1980s film camera exposure meters, and give reasonably accurate exposure readings, unlike 625 alkaline cells (1.5v and not stable). They are not inexpensive, and they do not last very long (compared to the predecessor PX-13 mercury batteries - banned since the 1990s). They need air to work, so keeping them sealed keeps them fresh, and if you use them and then remove them from the device and cover the air vent holes with a piece of tape, they'll keep some charge for another day. 12 Wein-branded cells for $50 is a good deal.

New Life for Old Cameras
Ok, I think I bought way more than I actually need, but these batteries work perfectly. They give new life to old cameras. I'm using them in a Pentax K1000, a Nikon F, and a Canonette rangefinder. The batteries drop right in. They do take a little bit of time to wake up after pulling the stick off, since they are air activated. But once awake, I compared meter readings with a known good meter and they were spot on.

Not Weil Cells
False advertising! Not Wein cells. These are generic 1.5v alkaline cells.
