Sorry, I was referring to the electrical wiring part of serial communications, not the software. According to the manual, the dcx2496 also supports RS232. Unless you want to run multiple dcx2496 units from a single computer interface, I suggest getting a USB to RS232 converter, since it should plug right in to the dcx2496 IF (and only if) Behringer has used the commonly accepted method for wiring up an RS232 port. The RS485 port on the dcx2496 uses an RJ45 connector, so you would need another converter from DB9 (F) to RJ45, or you would need to wire up your own connector.
