New replacement only has single power input so lights cannot be set-up on two switches like they could with the original. Hopefully function if improved. Original only lasted through two seasons, it was used to start plants in the late Winter. Review: Two lasted less than a year in Hydrofarm Agrobrite light - The Hydrofarm Agrobrite FLT48 T5 Fluorescent Grow Light System, 4 Foot, 8 Tube that I purchased lost four lights in less than a year. I opened up the case to fix it and found that it had two of these ballasts, each with four lights. I thought that maybe there was a wiring problem with a switch or one ballast causing the loss of all four bulbs, but was surprised to find everything in order--except the ballasts. Both had lost half of their capacity within a year. Poor quality. FWIW, Hydrofarm does not stand by its products. I will buy new ballast and fix my light.
