I've had a couple of different 'budget' snuffle mats before (or rather, my dogs have). You know the kind, nice bright colours, probably some slightly nonsensical made-up brand name, cheap. They've been fine and they did the job. But to celebrate the arrival of my new pup I thought I'd treat us to a posher version, to see if there was any difference... Yes, there is. This one is ethically manufactured, which is a big plus of course. But it's also noticeably good quality as soon as you pick it up. And yes, it does exactly what it's supposed to, providing minutes of happy snuffling even for a Common Hoover-faced Labrador. It has a really nice weight to it, which ensures that it lies flat and doesn't move around. There isn't a non-slip backing to it, it simply relies on the weight of the fabric, but on wooden flooring neither the enthusiastic pup nor I have had any issues with it slipping. The material feels really nice in the hand, which doesn't matter a bit from a practical point of view, but is just a 'nice to have'. The curled 'fronds' of the mat hold dry kibble well and don't get clogged up with food dust or bits. They are also super tough, surviving over a month of Labrador-mauling so far without a single sign of wear or damage. It's a strange product to be writing a glowing review for, but that's how much I was pleasantly surprised by it. One of those everyday things that's better than it needs to be, which helps brighten the day.

The snuffle mat has been a lifesaver for my crazy pup. It's the perfect size and durable enough for daily use. Hiding treats in the mat keeps my pup engaged and significantly calms her down and helps her out of the zoomies. It’s also great for slowing down her eating, which has improved his digestion. Easy to clean and use, this mat has become an essential part of our routine. Highly recommend!

I bought this product after reading a recommendation on another website and although I don’t regret it I find it hard to justify the price tag. It’s easy to use and easy to clean, and I’m using it every day to help my puppy slow down while eating. I’m giving it 4 stars simply because it’s not that easy to hide the food and the price is too high (even thought materials seem to be durable and good quality). I also wish it was larger than it actually is - you can’t use the edges of the mat or else the kibble will drop on the floor when you grab it, so it makes it even smaller. My 12 week labradoodle finds his kibble in no time (few minutes) so realistically it doesn’t keep him entertained as much as I would hope. every dog is different so get to know your dog first and decide if you want to spend the money.

Without having a camera to see how long it took our two springer girls to get all the cheese, we can pretty much say that this works. I spent ten minutes placing small bits of cheese in the depths of this mat and left it out whilst we were gone for a few hours. No cheese left when we returned and nothing in the house had been destroyed. It seems very sturdy, nice and heavy too so it won't move about/ can't be picked up and shook by our dogs. A slightly pricy item but we think it'll be worth it in the long run.

Mat was recommended by another website as being more expensive than others but worth it for durability. My dog is small and doesn't chew things but after first use a piece of the mat had come off. I'll keep the mat as it slowed down mealtime but it's not safe to leave unsupervised.

My friend has a snuffle mat for her dog, and I thought I'd give it a go for mine. I was first really dubious, dreading the mess, but it was great seeing her get completely stuck into the mat, snorting and sniffing like mad, lol. Glad it's not bigger, so it's easy to wash and since I use it for dry treats (and not wet sloppy food!), it's really no problem. Surprisingly impressed with this little snuffle mat! Looks really well made and small enough to throw in the washing machine with other doggie stuff.

Morally questionable advertising. Advertised as 100% Organic Cotton. Piles are in fact 57% Cotton, 39% polyester, 4% Spanx, meaning less safe for accidental ingestion than suggested.

Really like this mat! Very well made and provides the foraging enrichment that I was looking for, for my 13yr dog. The grass like fabric provides deep hideaways that make my dog work extra hard and lengthens the foraging time. He enjoys sniffing about for his kibble, and much better than just eating it up out of a bowl. Great investment! Well worth the cost, highly recommend. Wished though, the mat came in this size and larger size. Very happy with this mat :)

Really like this product, it teaches your dog to forage for food and not messy, My dog used to carry her bowl of dry bickies around the house and leave a mess everywhere, this snuffle mat put a stop to that

Love this snuffle mat! No smell at all. I washed and dried them when they arrived, I ordered 2 for my dogs. I placed kibble and treats in them and gave them each one mat. The material is very soft. They loved sniffing out the treats. And they were both calm when they were done. 16 month and 10 week puppy.
