Radio sound quality is great, Walnut wood is darker than in the picture
I have had one of these little radios in Cherry for some time (given to me as a gift). I ordered one a few days ago from Amazon, not realizing that the Walnut would be so very dark. I will be returning it, because I don't care for the very dark color. In real life, the walnut wood is darker than what is pictured here. I wrote to Greadio, hoping to be referred to a site where I could get the cherry color, as Amazon is all sold out. The rep, Lois, was very kind to search all over for me, but that color is sold out everywhere. I am hoping to get it in cherry from another company. it is a very good radio, and so cute. I want to get one for each of my sisters.

Quality Mini Speaker
Great little speaker, and the housing is actually wood...or at least feels like it. Only surprise for me was how small it is...but the sound quality is good considering its small footprint.

Amazing sound quality!
Buy this little Gem!! It’s awesome! The sound quality will amaze you coming from such a small little thing! No antenna, and no need for one because stations come in great, and we even live in the country. It’s so small and portable and I use it in my car right now as well because my car radio isn’t working! Highly recommend!

I thought it took batteries too
It's very cute and sounds nice. I like the simplicity but do wish AM radio was a feature for the important times I'd need it. Smaller than I thought. I looked at a few portable radios for an elder in a care home and must have confused the products. I'll end up keeping this for myself in the kitchen since it takes up so little space but wanted something that didn't require usb for charging.. I thought there was an option for batteries. Maybe I can find a cord adapter to plug in. If anyone knows?! Please reply.

Tiny but wow! Better than my laptop speakers. Volume max is most surprising.
You know how there are "retro" games of wooden boards/puzzles/appliances, but are in reality lacking quality once bought? This is the complete opposite! I have only used it for one hour so no clue about how long it lasts after max charge. I bought this little speaker since my laptop has poor quality speakers. My old Bose speaker died some months ago and I did not want to buy something mediocre even after trying some demo from the local electronics stores. Lately it seems I have been bombarded with Youtubers and influencers promoting 'ok" and questionable brands speakers. I feared a bit that this cute retro one would fall into the same story of "people love it because it's ok and it's cute". Upon opening the Amazon box I was surprised to find the actual package box was decent! The speaker was nested in the foam insert. A charger cable was attached as was a typical "nice-touch" storage pouch (although that defeats the purpose of using a speaker?). Although it powered on after arrival, I plugged it into charge (micro usb from my own cable). After being bored of a Youtube binge and dinner I decided to test it out. Volume Pro, Warning: I do want to say NOTE: the volume controller needs a delicate touch. From the tuner all the way down I only need to move it maybe 0.25 of an inch to play in my room at night as not to disturb others. If it was daytime and I was doing errands, washing dishes, it can be cranked up. While I would not use this for a "party" unless quite small--it can get close to as loud as the max of a "regular TV" in my opinion. That's quite amazing when you see it in person and know it's a mix of metal or wood with plastic backing! Radio FM: It's exactly as I imagined in terms of use. The little dial turns to the FM function and the face lights up orange (and remains so). Then you turn the face tuner to change radio channels. The--signal reader--is on the top of the flat surface of the "radio box" so do not put your hand or block it or it will distort the radio sound to be "fuzzy". 5/5 in terms of wow and use and clarity. What I am not sure about is that the channels it picked up is way different than my car overall, so not sure why that is and before someone says was it AM?--based off most music stations I do not believe it was AM radio. Bluetooth: Yes! The entire reason I bought this is to listen to my tunes clearly while doing cleaning. Left the volume dial as is and paired with my phone's Bluetooth in 3 minutes. Then I just played a song. Right now the radio is on a desk away from me, and I can just tap the side volume control from my Note 8 and lower/increase the volume from my bed! I know it sounds a bit --gee really? how's that exciting?-- Well it is for me after having the finicky Bose that died which by the way was superior in sound quality, but I'm not going to shell out money like that again. It did last a few years, but I'm no audiophile. This cute lil speaker is my new best friend while doing chores. Also while in Bluetooth the "face" will light up Blue there is no way of turning it off to my knowledge. Not a bad thing in my opinion. Audio Quality: It's definitely good. It's not mediocre or "ok". It's actually decent/good/satisfying. Again, it's better than my laptop's speakers. It doesn't compare to my old Bose speaker or headphones, but it's not disappointing. In fact it's "that" good I will consider purchasing it as gifts! Other positive bits to know: There are two little feet that you can peel the plastic off to provide some "grip". I like to slide the radio (though that's a bit risky) on my desk so I left the plastic on. Mine came with a little wrist strap cord? It should be removable. I like that it's kind of like a tail so I left it on for now. Maybe the wrist strap is for use outdoors to loop the radio "safe" over a pole? I don't advise it, but---it's possible maybe? I'm not sure why someone would hold the speaker in their hands and use the strap wrist that way. Build/Color: It looks exactly like the picture. I purchased the "Cherry" color wood. I think it is really wood? It's really smooth and you cannot tell if it is molded wood pulp. The back Aux is easy to access and so is the charge port. I hope this device lasts longer than my Bose...anyway for the price it would be a fantastic Christmas gift or birthday gift. Possible Cons: 1. I don't know the battery life after max charge is true to the "9 hours" claim 2. People need to know to charge their radio with a micro USB. I think that task doesn't register based off some negative reviews I read. There is no quick battery replacement only micro USB charge. 3. The front is identical to the pictures, but know that at least for the "cherry wood" I bought, the back is clean and smooth, but black plastic casing is exposed. The wood does NOT wrap around the entire body! If you buy this please know that in case you expected it to fully cover or if you don't want guests to see that for whatever reason. 4. The charge port light indicator is a bit dumb as it is located below the insertion point. Meaning you cannot see the indicator light status unless you lift up and look or somehow coming from a lower angle. Minor annoyance. I can live with it.

Small and beautiful Vintage Radio
Indeed; it is a small size Radio however; very powerful; in terms of sound level; clarity and reception of signal. Lovely design and color; walnut wood; which adds a beautiful classic look at home. Cute; very good to take along especially for the aged people; nice walking partner. Featured with FM, bluetooth; and SD card insertion slot. Operated with rechargeable battery: which can last for not less then eight hours; did not use it continuously but used it on and off on daily basis for almost a week without charging. It can be charged with any mobile charger; tried that and charged fully with in three hours. Highly recommended; reliable; beautiful and small size. What else you need; especially if you are used to listen to any of the FM channels. Thanks for manufacturing and selling this Radio in Amazon. I am updating this review after buying another Radio of the same. In addition to the above comments, it is worth to say that this type of radio is fantastic, the old one that I bought is still maintaining the same features, no change, and the new one is also doing the same. Hence, this is recommended radio if you look for FM broadcasting, and can travel with you anywhere same like your mobile. Hence, recommended quality.

Very Much a Personal Speaker
TF Card update: I thought it would be fun to create some 1940's music on Suno and have a self-contained music player with a micro-SD card. I was frustrated for a while until I found the instructions card. You have to put the radio on bluetooth mode and then LONG PRESS the play "M" button, and it will start playing the songs. When I present at conferences--I take my Bose speaker because it fills the room. When I want a cute speaker to play music while I work in my home office, I use this one. It's just right for that. The music quality is good for the instrumental kind of music I listen to. It's not going to amaze you with its volume and bass, but neither is it shallow and tinny. I wanted dedicated speaker to stay on my desk and look old-fashioned to go with my books and candles and rocks and keep me company while I work. It's absolutely perfect for that. It does a great job of playing music for one normal-sized room. It's also small and very portable, if that's your thing. The battery lasts quite a long time. I don't have to charge it very often. The radio picks up fine for me, and it's fun to play classical and 1930s music on this speaker. Just don't expect it to be a party speaker.

Worked great until it didn’t
I really liked this little thing - stylish, good volume (sound quality not great but I was really buying more for looks and to have background music while I work etc). But now, about 1.5 years in, the Bluetooth capability is kaput. Radio works ok (but I didn’t buy it for that and reception is poor in my house). For what I paid I suppose I should be glad it lasted as long as it did and looked cute in the meantime, but I am not happy to be contributing yet another item to the e-waste bin. I’ll look for a local school electronics club to which I can donate it
