Fish love this stuff!
This fish food is rated at 5 stars on a web site devoted to Oscars. In preparation of said Oscar, I purchased a bag from Amazon. This is high quality stuff! AS WELL AS IT SHOULD BE BASED UPON THE PRICE! I currently have 6 Small- to- Med Silver Dollars and a baby convict as the current inhabitants in my 75 Gal home far from home for them. The small pellets float briefly before sinking but are easily spotted for those who hunt the bottom! It seems very little of the small pinch of food is going to waste during feeding time. Because of its colour and interaction in the water- the crew has plenty of time to eat before the pellets reach bottom; for those pellets that do hit bottom, they are easily spotted thanks to the contrast the food provides! This stuff is equivalent to feeding your pets Iams products! Do your own research! Quality in= Less poop out:) Good enough for me.

Great food
I use a large variety of foods for my 75 gallon community tank. I have discus, angles, neons,Cory’s,skirt tetra, mollys, guppy’s, dwarf, frogs, danios, mystery snails, 3 female bettas, and a couple other tetra varieties, all in the 75. Everyone is happy to eat this food.

Good food
It took sometime to start the fish on this. Good growth comparable to beef heart. But for the amount this food is expensive.

My Discus love it!
I love my Discus, and I take great care in making sure that they are happy and healthy. In my early days, when I was still an amateur aquarist, I fed my Discus flakes made for tropical fish. These floated, and were not specially made for Discus. Discus prefer eating from the bottom, and not from the surface. Sinking food is better for them. They also get quickly very bored if you feed them the same kind of food over and over again. I feed my Discus two times a day (sometimes 3 times a day). I always alternate the food I give them. One day I give them frozen worms (which they love the most), one day shrimps, one day dried worms, one day Discus granules etc... You can tell if your Discus are happy by their colors (they display brighter colors) and they grow quicker. They also become less shy. My Discus love this Bio-Gold product. They actually fight over it, and I always love watching them whenever I feed it to them. It also has special vitamins that make your Discus grow faster and enhances their colors. The granules sink to the bottom, and they have a strong meaty smell (more so than the other Discus food I have). They just smell fresh, and maybe that's why the Discus love them so much. From all the food I give my Discus, these seem to be their second favorite (their favorite is frozen worms).

Tiny and sink very quickly
So when I got my Discus I decided to try this food and although it may contain good stuff, for me and my fish it just didn’t work. First off these pellets are TINY. Secondly they sink almost immediately before most of the fish even start eating them. Perhaps if you had a bare bottom or sand, this fish food might work for you, however, I have gravel and I feel it just falls in the cracks of the gravel where the fish can’t even get it. I personally prefer a food that floats longer so that my fish are eating from the top rather than from the bottom.

Excellent supplemental for Discus
Obviously theres no better diet for growing out Discus than natural beef-heart. But feeding juveniles beef-heart five times a day is expensive and messy. I've been use this product as a twice daily "snack" mixed with Aquarian Tropical Flakes and now with Cobalt Aquatics Discus Hans flakes. It dosent foul the tank as bad as beef-heart. Its high in protein, low in fat and low in moisture content; all a must for max growth for Discus. It sinks slowly and they eat most of it before it reaches the bottom of the tank. It dosent dissolve and they "peck" away almost off it that does reach the bottom, kinda like baby chicks :) I've been using this product over 20 years and find its one of the best for full growth potential and color development

Discus love it!
My Discus of all ages, love this stuff. The pellets are perhaps too small for adults but for feeding juveniles it's brilliant. The pellets can be crushed between your fingers to create a powder for very young fry too once they're off BBS.

my fish love this food, so much less waste and mess than you get with frozen beef heart. I fed this 3 times a day and fresh beef heart mix twice a day and now my fish nearlya year old now and now just get this twice a day and 3 days a week I swap their evening feed for something fresh. Overall a faultless food for healthy fish. All my fish are fed on hikari products!
