Older kit, but still a Tamiya
I've been building some of the new Tamia 1/48 aircraft kits which have all been exceptional. The exquisite detail and perfect fit never disappoints. However, this kit is clearly from a different era, a much simpler time with simpler details. Make no mistake, the end product is still quite nice, but the instructions, level of detail (especially the ccockpit) and part fit (testy wing hinge) were all a step down from my previous Tamiya experience. Prepare yourself for a rather simple and sometimes frustrating build, and you'll be happy with the results.

Great build
Tamiya is my go-to for great engineered models. I cannot think of any negative problems in the building of this kit. This instructions are very comprehensive. Tamiya's customer service is the best. I had lost a part for the flaps. They sent me a replacement that day and I recieved it in a day or two. This was a fun build and I recommend it. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Navy Blue spray paint is the way to go!!
Got this one to compare with another brand I wasn't happy with. That other brand is quickly fading from my memory. It took patience, not a weekend build for sure, but my finished model was at least a good amateur attempt.

Anything with a P&W is good.
It's navy with a round engine. What's not like ?

Somewhat confusing
I love TAMIYA products, especially their customer service. The instructions are somewhat confusing. I really had to step out of the box for this one. ...that being said it's a great model ! ..

Nice kit so so shipping
The kit is an excellent kit of the early Corsair, 5 star for the kit. The shipping in the other hand left alot to be desired. It was shipped in a mailing bag, no bubble wrap or any other packing material. The result was a crushed box. The kit was not damaged, but if you are a kit collector or would want to keep the very nice box art, not good. This is the second kit I bought from this seller, both the same way. Crushed box but kit OK.
