It's better than I expected. Has a long ply and looks great in photos.

Made in Greece from New Zealand wool. Super soft and will shed initially. Just shake it outside to clean and fluff. It is really a floor blanket that works great in low traffic areas where luxe-cozy is needed! The shedding stops after a week or so but understand it will shed until it wears away and an indication it is in a too high traffic area. It is natural wool it resists bugs and bacteria. Just shake it out…never vacuum or rake.

Bought it for my bedroom...Beautiful, but constantly shedding. I've brushed it, got about a gallon sized ziplock bag worth of loose wool off, and still shedding. Can't sit on it, can't lay on it unless you want to be covered in white fibers. I'm going to do as another reviewer suggested, and wash it at the laundry mat. Hopefully that won't ruin it. Other than the shedding nightmare, it's a beautiful rug, and I really can't bother to repackage and return it...so it's staying.

This doesnt even come close to replacing the flokati I bought in Greece years ago. It is thin and sparse and poorly crafted. But given it's construction, it is soft and pretty. I doubt it will last a fraction of the near 40 years that I had my first flokati.

SECOND UPDATE: I hate to be defeated in my quest for a comfy home, so I decided to give this one more try. I took it to the local laundry mat and washed it in the BIIIIG washer using hot water. (It's 5'x7' but pretty soft so it was not at all hard to wash it in a commercial jumbo washer--much like washing a big comforter.) I then dried in the dryer until almost fully dry, then laid it in the sun until it was 100% dry. Put it back in the room and voila! far less shedding!!! It still looks fine, although the wool did twist but I think that actually adds to the look. I'm happy I didn't give up on it. It still sheds, but it's bearable now. UPDATE: My first response was highly positive; given the price I thought this was a good buy. However, after living with it for a month I would NOT recommend. Yes, it's pretty and lightweight but it SHEDS. It has never stopped, despite shakings and vaccuming multiple times. My very short haired dog gets fuzz stuck to her like velcro. If you don't mind sweeping every day, this rug will work for you so please contact me and I'll sell you this one for half price! Sadly I gave it time to settle down and now I can't return it. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I took a chance because of the low price. Reading other reviews, I got the idea to buy the smaller size (5x7) so I can shake it out because vacuuming these fluffy rugs is hard and almost always clogs the vacuum cleaner. The rug took 2 weeks to get here--no idea why--but it eventually arrived and it looks fine. It's a little more on the "beige" than ivory side of the color but still nice. It's very fluffy although light weight--you will absolutely need a gripper pad underneath this to keep it in place. Overall, not fantastic, but cute and what I wanted for my bedroom.

Have it under my dining room table. It is exquisite.
