I can't verify if it is beautifully and accurately translated
I have difficulties finding the Chinese poems and poets due to the absence of poems or even just their names in Chinese. So I find it hard to ascertain if I like the translations or not for sure. It's easy to find the more famous ones, but the lesser known ones is really hard. I wish the author had at least included their Chinese name and the title of the poem.

Incredible
What Ms. Larsen began in "Brocade River Poems: Selected Work of the Tang Dynasty Courtesan Xue Tao" continues in this wonderful, slim and accessible volume. There is so much more to Tang Dynasty poetry then Li Po and Du Fu, as enjoyable as they are. Ms. Larsen's translations and exegesis of the poems of some of the female poets of the late Tang and Early Sung illustrate the humor, the depth' in fact the whole emotional range that poetry has the power to offer.

Couldn't be better.
Such an interesting collection. These poems are beautifully translated. Jeanne Larsen is a genius.

Poetry of Women in Ancient China
This lovely anthology collects poems from women in Ancient China from different walks of life, from the Royal Palace to the middle-class merchants' wives, to courtesons. High quality poetry, affecting, funny, sly and sexy, heart breaking, provoking. Oh, you gotta read it to get it. Highly Recommended.
