I Went Walking

3 year old laughed at it. I needed a repetition book for her and found this. She goes on walks so it’s topical. Its artwork is fabulous. I’m a longtime teacher of young kids in various settings and I have come to be very particular about story books with the added emphasis on purity. This little rhyme and vocal pattern book works for me.

As a kindergarten teacher I've always used this book with my beginning readers. It's a great book for shared reading. I just bought the board book for my 2 year old granddaughter who loves it. She can repeat the refrains and loves the clues about what animal the child will see next.

Durable, strong thick book

I discovered "I Went Walking" when I taught first grade. It was a part of their literature series early in the year. I have no children of my own and I own both the board book and the paperback edition of this book because I love the illustrations and the rhythmical quality of the text. As someone who has professionally worked with children ages 2-12, I find that this kind of text is invaluable to early readers (ages 2-7). Children can easily pick up on the patterns in the sentences and begin developing many pre-reading skills (like being able to identify the left to right movement of written sentences). To find books that your young child will want to read over and over again is a jewel in their literacy development. To find books like this that you will want to read over and over again with your child is a treasure box of time shared!

My children (1&2) love brown bear brown bear, so I bought this one in hope that they would love it too because it is similar. The liked it but not as much as the brown bear book.

This is such a cute little book. We first got it from the library and my 1.5 year old loved it so much, I knew I had to order it. The drawings are cute, the story is simple, and it's the perfect book for animal loving kiddos. My girl loves to make all the animal sounds when we read this.

Book was as described. Reasonable price for item.

My daughters favorite book. The first one fell apart overtime so we ordered another for Christmas.
