Squier by Fender Deluxe Hot Rails Strat, Rosewood Fretboard - Olympic White

I've been playing for over 15 years and I started off with an original 1982 Fenders Strat American Standard. Is this axe on par with the original? In my opinion, absolutely!Right of the box the intonation acceptable, the low E and A is a bit sharp, but barely. The pick up hieght needed to be adjusted. String hieght needed to be raised (I play with .012-.052). These adjustments are common with "new" guitars.The tone is unbelieveable, I was amazed on how well each note rang out, I was plugged straight into a line 6 35w spider 12in. The pick-ups have such a strong output that when I plugged into my cheap zoom 505 I had to adjust the settings because it was overdriving the unit, my current guitar is a Samick Greg Bennett design HSS, this guitar blows that one out of the water. The tone is absolutely amazing.This guitar is somewhat heavy feeling for a squire, it does not feel cheap, for an idonesian made guitar it feels like it's worth 5x more. I truely recommend this guitar to anyone, novice or pro. The only difference between this and my '82 Fender is the lack of the micro tilt neck on the squire.

I did not get the sound that I heard to make me purchase this guitar. Still searching.

No single coils, so don't expect a nice clear sound, and no real humbuckers so don't expect a heavy distorted sound with the guitar and amp only. I am really not in love with the sound, probably i will replace the bridge pickup with a sh4 soon, but i really love the neck and the weight. It's a really lite guitar and a nice small neck, don't misunderstood me, is not a bad sound, it's for kind of indie sound... you play strokes and it sounds really well, but not for heavy distortions... like nirvana. I love the color, the shape... but if you have more money buy a guitar with singles and a humbucker... like i said is not a very versatile guitar.

Great guitar for the money. However, it arrived in an opened box. There was very little padding or protection for the guitar. I am shocked that it arrived in decent shape, only a couple of minor scratches. Someone who really didn't give a crap packed this guitar for shipping.

I told my wife of 17 years and who is a registered music therapist, to go onto the Amazon web site and pick out a electric guitar for her Christmas present. She and I looked at a lot of guitars, thoroughly read about them and all of the reviews. After a week of searching, reading, comparing and asking questions, this is the Sweetness that she chose. This Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Stratocaster is one really superior guitar for the price. This Strat is not only really gorgeous, it sounds great ! I was really thrilled when she picked a Fender Stratocaster because just the name says " SUPERIOR QUALITY ". If you are looking for a great sounding, nice looking, well built guitar, this is what you need and you cannot beat the price. My lovely wife has definitely had a Merry Christmas !

I was hesitant as Inhad never tried a hot rails before but because of the price and because of need I got it!EXCELLENT!!! you cannot tell it is this cheap once you hold it, it is very light, the body shape which you cannot tell by the pictures is so beautiful I was suprised and still am every time I pick it up, what is true is that the pick ups do not look as "nice" but they sure do have a amazing sound, I do think I need to get better potention meters as the ones included are not the best for a rookie player who likes to change playing styles often this was perfect for me!

Developed a crack in the paint on the back side, guess you get what you pay for..
