Steinel Smart Home motion sensor IS 140-2 Z-Wave white, Smart Friends home automation, switches max. 6 LEDs

Good sensors, easy to install and include on z-Wave network.

It’s been a nightmare! There are no standard set up settings for this in Vera and trying to understand the instructions that came with the sensor has been very difficult to the point of being impossible to me. I’ve spent ages trying to get it working but it just doesn’t want to play! It switches the hard wired light but I bought it to activate z wave scenes and it simply doesn’t do it...or to be more precise, it works once or twice then stops working. The only way I can then get it to work again is to power it off then on again...it then works for a few switches then goes down again. Maybe there are settings that would improve things, but the instructions are not much use and I can’t find anything on line. I bought this because it was an external z wave sensor that was mains powered but it really is disappointing. If you really know hat you’re doing then maybe it’s worth trying but I sadly regret buying it and there seems no help out there to get it set up. And the instructions are pretty useless. All the talk about z wave being a common system ...I found something yesterday that said it was only partially compatible with Vera...how does that work when it’s not only z wave but z wave plus?! This is another example it seems to me of fact not living up to hype.

C'est le troisième que j'installe et je dois dire qu'ils fonctionnent très bien. Je ne les utilise qu'avec la fonction zwave dans Domoticz.

Lo ho da diversi anni ma non ha mai funzionato a dovere. Includendolo nella rete zwave spesso mi da nodo morto, spesso dopo un black out non funziona proprio. Accendere/spegnere tramite fibaro funziona sporadicamente. Sono deluso del prodotto

Si j'ai réussi à trouver le code Java "Steinel IS 140-2 Z-Wave" après recherche internet et intégré le détecteur via "My device Handler", je n'ai en revanche pas pu utiliser les conditions d'automatisation pour déclencher plusieurs éclairages sur détection, déclencher l’éclairage branché sur le détecteur a partir d'une règle smartthings, etc... Cela laisse à penser une volonté de Steinel de ne pas donner les clefs à une intégration autre qu'avec leur écosystème.

Slechts z-wave product dat ik ooit heb aangeschaft. Product werkt na montage niet, niet in normale stand, noch in z-wave stand met mijn z-wave controller. Nergens duidelijke handleiding te vinden hoe dit in te stellen. Op internet lees je alleen maar dit soort klachten.

Installed the Z-Wave Steinel and was happily surprised. It's installed to about 4m high from the yard but operates perfectly the distance of 14 meters as described. Temperature has been around -5 - +10 Celsius so no experinces from lower/higher temperatures. It is connected to Smartthings with device handler found from google, it's not just plug-and-play but when done works good. You can feed the Smartthings by lux-value, motion detection or trigger it on by other actions. The only thing bothering a bit is that the motion sensitiviness can not be adjusted so I just got lucky the triggering limit of 14m is just in the right position at our entry gate. I have no load to control directly from the detector - only the z-wave signal.
