Hand shredder
Works well. Great for home use. Prefer this item to an electric one. No jamming and Cut is quality.

Good Value
Sometimes the handle falls off, which is a bit of a pain. But overall it does a good job: I'm shredding away. Well worth the money.

Was of use even for older people.
Great for small amounts of shredding. Little effort needed and easy to use.

Small - and surprisingly good!
This was a bit of a punt -.a small manual shredder that wasn’t expensive …. It’s great! It works best one sheet at a time. It’s compact and easy to set up and get going. Vey impressed…

It's good but cannot use it properly
This product is good , quality built is good , the cutter made of steel and other parts are made of plastic. It efficiency is great as it shreds well. The bad thing is there is no lock in place mechanism for both the box and the main shredder and something on the side to hold on to it , so that I can use turn the side handle. I did buy this , think it will be better to save energy and have some hand exercises also.

Mostly Satisfactory, though some Bits are Stuck within the Head
As soon as the little 'toy' came home, I put it to task. OK, if you have newspaper to shred, cut them into A4 size and you can shred 3 layers with ease. 4 becomes a bit thick but still workable. More than that you run the risk of breaking the handle. Understanding that this is a hand-cranked version, let's go gentle with it. Now I just noticed that if you are shredding typing paper kind of material, the shreds come out about 3 mm, clean-edged. But as I was shredding quite a bit of newspaper for a fun project, the newspaper strips were closer to 4 mm. But fine by me. In general, using the machine is not much of a problem. However you need to understand that, since you need to hold the small machine in place while cranking, you probably need to put your left hand very close to the top cover on the right, near the crank itself, to get the job done. If you are shredding only a few pages you won't even notice it. But as I needed to shred more, yes, I did notice the little bit of strain. But then once again, I know what I am paying for so I don't complain. Using this shredder needs a bit of care when you intend to fold a larger page into two, or even when you slotted in a page but not totally straight down. In the case of 2 thin pages that you slotted in which begin to 'slant', at some point those two pages will fold upon themselves because of the relatively narrow cutting length, causing the shredder to 'think' that you have inserted more than 2 pages! This is when you need to be careful. If the machine is stressed out, simply cut off the paper from the shredder with a pair of scissors, and finish off the shredding with a second attempt. Otherwise the machine can 'feel' that it is working with more than its acceptable number of papers and give you trouble. And, remove the contents before the little container box gets too jammed. Otherwise the shredder head may pick up the shredded bits already in the container, adding to the thickness of what you actually are trying to shred. Now having shredded a good number of pages, I noticed that some 'bits' have stayed inside the shredder head and cannot be removed. I just hope this is not going to cause any trouble. Otherwise I declare the little machine a genius, saving me loads of time with my fun project!

Low cost and easy to use solution for shredding
I have some old files of bank statements, etc, taking up spaceand wanted to dispose of them whilst ensuring privacy and security. I have used an electric shredder in the past and it is impossble to listen ro music or watcj TV because the noise is so great. when I saw this manual shredder I thought I would give it a try. It was relatively cheap so nothing to lose if it wasn't up to the task. I have now used it for a few days and can confirm that it does a good job and not a lot of noise to speak of! As it is amanually operated it also saves elecrticity too! The only caveat is that the plastic case is quite thin so placing the heavier shredding mechanism in place on top needs to be done with care or the corners of the case can get damaged. The handle is removable and the overall dimenions of the machine mean that it can be stored out of site fairly easily. I'm happy to give this 5 stars as it has been just the job for me and can recommend it.

Better than the electric ones I’ve previous bought.
This arrived yesterday and this morning I put out 4 bin bags full of shredded paper for the rubbish collection! I’m very pleased. If you’re impatient or heavy handed, this might NOT suit you. It is about the size of a 2 slice toaster and although it says it can take 2 pieces of paper, the heavier weight paper puts a strain on the plastic handle so I only did one sheet at a time and I still found it quicker that the electric cheap shredders as I didn’t have to stop for overheating or clogged cutters. You cannot do credit cards nor paper with staples in. You have to hold the box down whilst you turn the handle otherwise it slides of the table. For the price this is excellent for normal domestic use.
