The smell was incredible in the plastic package. I'd never used Palo Santo incense before and am now hooked on it. The smell is calming, enveloping, and gorgeous. To me it smells woodsy with a little citrus. I have re-purchased twice. I work from home & burn it while I work which helps have more focus. Any time I feel sad, depressed, this incense uplifts me & my mood. I like it better than sage for dispelling negativity. When I'm not smudging & want a longer burn time, I use charcoal disks. I move the stick every 10 minutes or so to keep it burning. Half a stick will burn on a charcoal disk. I love that this is a minority owned business. Fast shipping & a spectacular incense. I highly recommend it.

I’ve purchased Palo Santo many times before from various stores and online, including Amazon, and most of them barely burned or had very little aroma. This one is by far the best quality I’ve ever found—amazing fragrance and it burns easily compared to others. Thank you for such a great product. I’m a very happy customer for life!

I do really like the smell of these things. And they do go out pretty quickly, but I think that's the reality. They will get better if you put them in one of those little chimney things in which case they might actually burn. Then when you blow them out they create a LOT of smoke. But creating the smoke is the point. They're not supposed to burn or smoke for very long.

Great product. Burns well and smells delicious. Great for clearing your house and making it smell wonderful at the same time.

Stinky -- headache inducing. kinda smells like a distant tire fire. no bueno. try it outside. maybe it'll repel mosquitos or vampires or some other nefarious creatures.. then again, they might like it. After getting the hang of holding a lighter to the wood until the stick gathers up its own robust flame and letting it burn for another 30 secs or so before blowing out, it does actually smell very calming and burns for a few minutes. The short burn time is actually good if using indoors because they do put out some smoke. These sticks are not made to burn for a prolonged time as incense does, so if you understand this, it's easier to enjoy them for what they are. The strange smell only occurred right after opening the bag and burning the first stick. Maybe that stinky smell was only on one stick, but it still may keep away the bad spirits. Then again, that's a good thing.no?

This is the whole stick, not the cut up one stick into 4's sticks scam. Smell is good, little bag it comes in is handy. Worth it, will buy again

This is the real deal folks!! I have a wonderful cabin on Airbnb that has been booked at least 75% of the time since 2015, so you can imagine how many sticks I’ve used to cleanse the energy between guests......let’s just say I’ve purchased A LOT of Palo Santo over the years and can honestly say these are the best!! Now, you can spend hours reading reviews for every brand of these sticks on Amazon and there will be people saying it’s real or it’s fake, but I have yet to see anyone explain how they know which is which!! So, from my experience, here’s my two cents on how to tell the difference: “Real” Palo Santo has been harvested from a mature wild tree that has naturally fallen and lain undisturbed for 5-10 years in the forest. As far as burning a stick, you light the tip & the flame should burn for about 15-20 seconds before it naturally goes out & will have a good smolder going over the entire tip of the stick. This will release a grey tendril of smoke for at least a couple minutes, and leaves a dark rounded tip when you’re finished. As many other reviewers have noted, PS sticks are used to dispel any negative energy in your space, and I have noticed that when the air feels particularly stale or “heavy”, I will need to re-light the stick more often to cleanse the cabin. I know some will think that sounds hokey, but just being truthful about my experience with PS for those who know what I’m talking about! With “fake” Palo Santo, the sticks probably are from a Palo tree, they were just not harvested properly....perhaps they were taken from a tree that was cut down and/or was not mature. As a result, these sticks are dipped in oil in order to have the Palo scent. When these sticks are lit, there is a large flame that immediately runs down the stick and releases black smoke. This happens because the fire is burning the oil on the outside rather than the actual wood. So, unless you want to burn your fingers, you need to blow it out pretty quick, which means you end up with only a tiny bit of the tip smoldering that lasts about 20 seconds before it goes out. Of course most importantly, the scent is completely different..... the real stuff has a wonderfully light, earthy smell, where the dipped one has a strong perfumey kind of smell that usually gives me a headache :) Luna has always shipped lightening fast and sent sticks that burn perfectly and smell heavenly!!
