The Dog Lover's Companion to the Pacific Northwest: The Inside Scoop on Where to Take Your Dog (Dog Lover's Companion Guides) Review: Essential! - New to Oregon (and to dog-owning) we were eager to do a good job socializing our puppy and this book helped us do just that. The lists and ranking of dog parks, trails, restaurants and hotels is extremely helpful. We keep this book in the car and it comes in handy for giving our pup a play break on road trips, and for finding fun spots during weekend adventures. Wherever we move next, I play to buy the appropriate version of 'The Dog Lover's Companion' for that area! Review: So FAR so good (Get it?) - The book has good info- well written- easy to read. As with any guide it gets out dated and some of the info is dated, but it gives great ideas that just a little research fixes right up.

Great information about what not to miss and many options that included places that were not main stream. I keep the book handy when exploring a new area. Well done!

no problems finding places
This is a great little reference guide for finding things to do with your dog. I've only been to a few places so far but this book will certainly come with me everywhere I go with my dog in the northwest. Great find.

great for the average traveler and pooch
Great book for the average traveler with the standard pooch. Sadly we are more backwoods, unwelcomed-large-dog people (pitbulls). Its still good to have around for the short hikes and day trips. Well written and informative. Glad i bought it but wouldn't recomend for the backpacker, back country camper or discriminated breeds.

Pretty decent book
Pretty decent book. I saw this book at REI for like 20.00 bucks and alomst pulled the trigger. Figured I would check amazon first. Good thing i did. The book is really good though. Its a nice book to throw in the car when your traveling so you know where you can take your pups.

Out of date, but still good
I wish there was an updated version of this. Some of the places they mentioned are closed.

This was a gift we gave to someone else so am not sure what their experience is with it. However, it arrived promptly and they seemed excited by it when they opened it at Christmas.
