The Complete Visions of Anne Catherine Emmerich (Illustrated): The Lowly Life and Bitter Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Blessed Mother Together with the Mysteries of the Old Testament Review: Wonderful Read - I chose this rating. When I first started to read it, I like many was skeptical. But the more I read my faith became stronger. I used this writing to help me fill in many blank spaces I had wondered and pondered. Through many months of prayer, I finally felt that the Spirit had given blessing. You have to be very careful about visions. It is up to you to seek discernment. There was one place where she was describing a vision where she specifically mentioned something that she saw and believed the year to be 2000. It spoke of the turbulance within the church but this had a start 40 or 50 years prior. I will leave it at that, but I am sure there are many believers that could come to the conclusion. How else would she know? These visions came to her throught her life and I believe she passed nearly 200 years ago. Review: Wonderful book - This is one of the more interesting books I've ever read, it answers so many questions and opens up so many avenues about the life before Jesus and Mary and great explanations about the prophets of old. Love it!!!

Incredible Book
There's no words to capture the immensity of this book. She describes in minute detail many persons, places, things and events of the scriptures. Some places in real life have been discovered because of the visions she's been given, such as Mary's cottage in Turkey. I also felt like I got to know the people in scripture much more closely. It reads like a novel that also vividly describes the settings.

If you are interested in what may have happened in Jesus life during the times left out of the Gospels then this is a good resource. It is hard to believe that this could all be simply an act of imagination, however, that is left to each individual to reckon with. There are so many references to towns and villages, events and people that would be impossible to glean from historical records alone. It is surely inspired from a woman whose spirit is deeply in communion with her faith in God. It is a rich, detailed and beautiful look at the times in which the Holy Family lived. A rare and wonderful book that will enrich the life of any Christian.

Amazing Story
I started to read this book because I wanted to learn more about the saints. and I really thought it was too much information at first. Then I got to the actual visions and it explained so much and brought so much to light that I was wondered about. This is such a good book, it really fills in the holes of the bible. Love it!

A good book to meditate and for spiritual growth
Let's start with the cons: 1. Bad editing- Some sentences do NOT make a complete thought 2. For me, I need to check the dictionary most of the time because of unusual words. I understand this is an old edition 3. I get lost with the footnotes Pros: 1. Complete version and price is affordable compared to latest edition 2. Text are readable to me although each page was used/filled to the max (No margins) 3. I can pause and meditate as the description of St Anne are quite detailed. 4. I feel closer to God, knows more about Mother Mary and her family, etc

Absolutely amazing and beautiful!
Wow! So interesting to read! One of the things I have always hoped for when I get to heaven is that God has a "photo gallery" or "film" so we can see how all of history really looked. What did the Garden of Eden look like? And Noah's Ark? And the Tower of Babel? Anne's gift of spiritual visions allowed her to automatically "see" these things as she heard the stories. As a little girl, she assumed everyone else could see these things as clearly as she did, but then she learned that is not the case. Her visions add so much depth and shed light on many points of sacred scripture. A lot of wonderful things to meditate on, and a lot of new perspective to help teachings "sink in."

We learn more about Heaven and spiritual matters
This is a thick book w/small print. Anne C Emmerich's visions and life are lessons for us all. Because the info is so 'deep' it takes time to 'digest' and contemplate. Recommended.

Illustrated where?

Minus one star for small font which honestly isn’t great for old or young eyes - but saves the trip of using an iPad. Price fair. Small error in text and random placement of stations of the cross illustrations (there isn’t any other sacred art) but for the price fair. This complete tome is a treasure and a gift that keeps giving. Use as directed by your spiritual director. I have grown to love this incredible blessed and her splendid gift. Formidable!

The Complete Visions of Anne Catherine... I have only read about one fifth of this book so far, and I find it fascinating. it gives me a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith and the Bible, going behind the scenes so to speak, it gives a more human side to all the people in the bible, and I think makes a lot of the books of the Bible more believable for this. I would strongly recommend it to anyone struggling with their faith and maybe finding the bible heavy going. I have been interested for a long time in the prophecies and visions of Ven Catherine Anne Emmerich, and this book seems to cover most of them.

Great to find all Anne Catherine Emmerich's visions in one book. If you want all the extra information that the original books included as footnotes, this may not be the book for you, but if you want the visions presented in chronological order, this is ideal. There were a couple of places where something seemed to have been missed out, but overall this is a great book. Easy to find the particular part you are looking for.
