Excellent item with an amazing price. I was on holiday in the states and bougt this while at the hotel as it much more expensive here in the UK.

1. subjectively, it appears distilled water works best, but fungus will grow in the humidifier (guitar or cigar).2. so far the propylene glycol (pg), seems to control the fungus (i haven't seen any since i started using it).3. the sponge doesn't dry out as quickly as with only water, but i think this means less water is released to the cigar or wood (i use for guitar).4. since it controls the fungus growth, i can recommend it; i suggest you experiment so that you have the most water possible in the sponge and enough pg to control the fungus.

Viewed on Amazon, the price was great. One would spend about $12.00 for just one bottle. Its going to keep my cigars fresh for a long time. Would buy again when I run out.

Great product to assist in keeping your cigars fresh and humidor at its optimal level

Probably the same as any other PG solution, but I have come to trust XIKAR for my cigar accessory stuff. At the age now where the high point in my day is a good cigar and a drink on the patio in the evening (yeah, I know. That's sad) But, Since that's it, I want my cigars aged well. This stuff keeps my humidors properly humidified.
