Great Saw
Brand new condition. Works very well. I have now put this saw through the gauntlet and can say that it holds up to anything I put it through. As a butcher, I am looking for the best quality machinery at the best affordable price. This saw gives me both. It also arrived right on time and it in great condition. I suggest this affordable meat saw to anyone looking for the best meat band saw and a descent price.

Cheaply produced. Not built to last.
Pretty terrible product that was foolishly designed. Way too many moving parts. Need to take it apart to clean it? Good luck! Even a simple adjustment of the blade guides generally takes around 20 minutes or longer because the adjustment screws were put in hard to reach places. At first glance, the sliding table seems like a good idea; however, it is not. Only a centimeter or two off and it will put stress on the blade and cause problems. None of the parts are built to last. The screws, bolts and washers are already waring down after weekly use for about a year. Because of constant problems I am being forced to sell this and buy a better meat saw, most likely an Omcan.

The saw works Great!
I Literally cut up 2 pigs in just over 1 hour (not including grinding/packaging) with no problems. Clean up is somewhat of a pain having to remove the sliding top and other components. I added a solid base to the legs and attached locking casters to each corner making it easy to maneuver. Not sure how the limited space of the throat and sliding table will work on large beef (1k lbs. & heavier) but will find out this Fall. I'm sure if Rikon re-designed the throat and table to accommodate larger pieces of meat, increased the motor rating to 1 hp, added a solid base and casters and required less dismantling for clean up, Hobart/Biro/Butcher Boy wouldn't be a consideration for purchase by do-it-yourself users like me.

Great meat saw
I didn't want to write a review until I used it. It was very easy to assemble with clear instructions. The saw is amazing! Cut through cow bones like they were butter. Just the saw alone is worth the money. The grinder on the other hand broke 30 minutes into grinding beef. It may have been a defect in the casting of it. I also wished it had a cuber on it.

It cuts meat but very hard to clean. To clean you need to unscrew all parts and it is hard to clean the bottom wheel. If you use for meat cutting you need to clean it daily, it is a pain.

DONT BUY!
Dont buy. The saw blade has no fat scrapers and as soon as the fat gets on the blade it falls off. The wheels are not inset and the blade falls off easily. I tried to cut up a cow and gave up after an hour. IT IS WORTHLESS!

Rikon Meat Saw with Grinder
Took awhile to get together but well worth the work. Cut 4 hams and 4 shoulders and ground sausage on the first try. Saw never slowed down and always cut straight. grinder worked great also. Using this saw is a joy. Would recommend this to anyone serious about cutting and processing their own meats.

The saw performed very well for us. It met our expectations. We used it in cutting up sheep meat, and it was very adequate. We have done six sheep on it so far and the blade is still good.

For the money spent, there's nothing else that comes close. A slightly better machine costs over $2000....

The saw works ok I wouldn't recommend it though and it got quite a bit of damage during shipping so I will probably look at selling this one and try another brand
