Great Budget Amp
The media could not be loaded. Hey guys ..I'm no pro installer here but I have hooked up a few systems in my day..I wanted to build a decent system in my truck and stay in the 500 dollar budget range for my Tahoe. After purchasing a new head unit, wiring system, and a set of subs I needed an amp. I did my homework on the subs and decided this was the one I needed. Everything was purchased from Amazon outside of the Powerbass cap I already had. Here is a list (this may help someone)HEAD UNIT http://smile.amazon.com/Clarion-CZ302-Bluetooth-USB-Receiver/dp/B006WVX9R2WIRING http://smile.amazon.com/KnuKonceptz-KCA-Complete-Gauge-Installation/dp/B0050I6KIISUBS 2 X Power Acoustik GW310 10-Inch DUAL 2OHM 1000WATT RMS http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B7C07LCPOWER DISTRIBUTION BLOCK http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IORDM2OAnd of course This AmpSPECS STRAIGHT FROM THE PA WEBSITEMax Power 2000W , Power Output at 4 ohms 600W, Power Output at 2 ohm 900W, Power Output at 1 ohm 1200WI had already wired my 2 DVC subs in series but when I received the amp I was surprised to see that it had 2 outputs already which is cool. I didnt have to run my subs in series in the box I could have just wired one to one side and one to the other because the amp is wired in series inside. So those of you who don't want to pull your box apart to re wire 2 or more subs you can use this feature.Running 2 DVC subs in series and ran to one channel of this amp, in theory I should be getting 900W RMS to those subs..I hope. The subs are 1000w RMS 2000W max...Now I don't have fancy tools to show you this but I can say they Pound! I am still breaking in the subs so I haven't slammed them to hard for too long but they do sound good.If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to ask using the comment section below. I will respond. If you found my review helpful, let me know. Lets keep making better buying decisions together. Thank you and as always Be Safe & Happy Shopping!!

Some Specs are off
The specs on this amp say that the Power and Ground input are 4ga, when in reality they are not. If you try to get a 1/0ga to 4ga reducer, it will NOT fit into Power/ground terminals, the 8ga is way to small for the terminals, so I would suggest if you are going to use reducers for this amp, to look very closely at each reducer and choose the smaller diameter size as this amp will NOT fit a typical 4ga reducer. It doesn't even fit my 4ga power wire, but I also get true gauge wire that has a min of 5200 count strand, so if you go with a cheaper brand of 4ga wire, I'm sure it will fit perfectly. Also the terminals are at an angle, something I missed while reviewing this amp. Thus for hooking up this amp, IF you are going to attach it to the actual sub box (which I advise not to) make sure you have it sitting on the very edge with the terminals pointing outward. If you are going to create your own amp rack/box, it will be best to have the wires (power/ground/remote/speaker) coming up from the bottom so there is no strain on the wires coming from the sideOther than those two things and the second was my fault as I missed it, the look ad everything look great. I have NOT installed or turned this amp on as I'm completely customizing my A/V system from the ground up

this amp THE best you will get for $250
theese amps are great i purchased 2 of theese and 6-12 inch infinity subs in march of 2010 and wired all 6 12s up to 1ohm at the amp. both amps are in a "strapped" (master-slave) configuration. According to power acoustic that means i am pushing 6400 rms watts to 6 subs in case you are curious (i have tested this) i can be noticeably heard from 6 miles away in a city setting. i have a few more things in this system than i mentioned here but i didnt want to carry on too long. -->>EDIT>> it is now 1/2/13 and i still own both of these amps. neither has given me any trouble and i WILL buy more of them before they are gone just to always have one on hand. go PowAk=edit= 3/5/2015 these amplifiers outlived my love for ridiculous bass.... I finally sold one of my amps (it still works) and 3 of my 12s to a friend last month. I have the other amp hooked to a fosgate p3 15 in my 2000 grand Cherokee, and it sounds cleaner than I could have imagined. these amps are known for supplying cheap wattage, but in this configuration I sounds great. I first received this amplifier in feb of 2011 and I am still impressed! this amp is no joke and I have sold 6 of them to friends and family over the years, and I did all the installs so if you don't know how the master slave thing works or why there are 2 separate places for power ground and rem turn on let me know I will do my best to help.

Unboxing review
So far i've only received amp and unboxed it and opened the hood.First thing that struck me was the size and weight. It borders on mini amp size and doesn't weight much either. The cover is clear plexi and is painted black on the backside. This paint is already flaking off near the screw holes and surely will look horrible at some point but I have plans for this panel anyway.Overall amp borders on budget look and feel. I have some fosgates n kickers around so I have some reference. Finally, I found two different pictures on the web of the guts of the bamf5500. Is one of these a revision? My guts resemble the one with four capacitors and three smaller transformers.I will update on function when I get this thing hooked to my pair of DD3518 's.....

good amp just not what i needed
i ordered this amp to power my sundown audio sa 12. it is a dual 2 ohm voice coil sub and is beautifully 1 ohm stable and it did not give hardly enough power for it at 1 ohm. it does not put out a real 1200 at the 1 ohm like it says and i had the amp returned. BUT it works very well for every sub that doesnt demand as much power as mine. it does not get hot and id recommend it. it needs a minimum of 4 awg wire to operate. the customer service has been very courteous HOWEVER you do have to pay for shipment if you want to return the item which costs around $22. i would give 5 stars if i did not have to pay for the return.
