Fits the Maytag Braxos XL, and fixes the noisy bearing problem!
We have had a Maytag Bravos XL washing machine for years, and it has gradually gotten so noisy that you couldn’t have a conversation while it was on the spin cycle. The problem is that the original drive seal, well, doesn’t, and it allows water from the tub to get into the shaft bearings. They corrode and make a horrendous racket while turning. Eventually, they will seize up and the washer will stop working, with just an error code on the screen. Before mine gave up the ghost, I decided to attempt the repair. I got quick answers from the seller on it fitting my machine. The cost was more than reasonable, as it includes the bearing installation tool. The tool alone, under the Whirlpool/Maytag brand, costs $20+ more than this whole kit! I followed a YouTube video from AppliancePartsPros.com, and the repair was complete in a little over 2 hours. You will have to overcome a few glitches or stuck parts here and there, but it was nothing the careful use of a hammer and wood block couldn’t overcome. Most importantly, the new seal is accomplished by a well-greased inner fit riding on two surfaces, and a tight outer fit that now includes a tacky adhesive to assure water doesn’t get by. I feel it’ll last much longer than the original setup. The washer works and sounds like new. I am very pleased with the quality and fit of the parts. I was thrilled that the tool was included! It sets the bearings perfectly. A great price on a great kit that was shipped quickly. Short of them coming to install it for me, that’s as good as it gets.

Installed on Maytag Bravos XL (MVWB880BW0)
I figured I'd share some comments, but note this is only 2 days after install, so can't speak for longevity of the parts, etc. yet. I was replacing the bearings due to a bad lower bearing (grease started showing on floor below) - The washer has been loud for maybe 6 months to a year possibly longer. It was hard to remember how quiet it once was, but after replacing with this kit, we barely notice it running. Prior to replacement, sounded like a plane taking off when it would spin at high speeds. If you have this issue, I would highly recommend getting the bearings (complete kit) swapped out prior to having these break down and having grease either on your floor or whatever is in your washer at the time. The toughest, longest part to replacing these were... 1. Getting the bottom bolt off (wish I watched a better youtube first to know you can put a screwdriver through to hold in place while using allen wrench). 2. Getting the rod out - took a lot of force, more than I would have expected. Same issue when trying to seat the new one back in. Using a long wooden board vs. small "protector" wooden board made it much easier. Being able to hit the board outside of the tub when seating the new one, you can get a lot more force on it. 3. Cleaning everything off - grease etc. This took awhile, used vinegar on tub to get out hard H20 build up. Also - cleaned out filter, which had never been cleaned, and wish I knew existed (LOTS of build up there and very easy to clean). Not a "quick" project, but would take half the time now that I've done it once, and 2 days in, my wife is very happy with an extremely clean, quiet and functional washer. Hope the parts are built to last. If issues arise sooner than later, will update the post.

Product is ok but bearing press kit was faulty
I have bought this product twice now, 1st time around, it lasted for about 2 years so I recently bought it again. I am hoping it can last another 2 years. However, the reason, this time around I am giving it 1 star is due to following 2 reasons: 1. The bearing press tool was not sized correctly. Both bottom and top sides got stuck on to both, bottom and top bearings. The bottom one was comparatively easy to take off the bearing (with a hammer 🔨). The top bearing was stuck in the tool so bad that I had to knock out the bearing and had to use a bearing puller to get it unstuck. I was not a happy camper as the pressing kit supposed to make your life easy but I ended up wasting time and effort to get the bearing unstuck without damaging it. It almost took me twice as long to get the replacement job done. NOT COOL! I would recommend the seller to have some quality checks in place for the bearing press tool to avoid this kind of bad customer experience! Lucky for me, once I removed the stuck bearing, I was able to use the press kit from last time to put it all together. 2. Secondly, there was some squeaky noise that I don't recall hearing the last time after installation. I saw other comments about it being louder than expected, I have noticed the same. We will see how long it lasts and if the noise gets worse. If you planning on buying this, I would highly recommend placing the bearing press tool on both bearings to make sure it is a lose fit and can easily come off the bearings!!! Hope this is helpful. Good luck 👍

Great value and great seller but a few guidelines
The tool is precision made, no problems there along with the replacement parts. One has to watch the youtube video, read the instructions, and read the #1 rated review here to figure out the best way on how to accomplish this. This kit spans several models, so there are of course several differences than can create problems. But, and this is a big BUT, and not to insult anyone attempting this job...it really isn't that easy. If you are used to working on appliances or cars or some random thing then yeah you are used to dealing to random problems that pop up and have an assortment of tools. But if this is your first appliance repair than you have my condolences. A few words of advice: 1) Have a decent set of hammers. Fortunately I didn't need to use the car jack to break the tub out, it lifted out. 2) You will have flip the washer up and down again several times. Don't trust the hinges. On mine they were basically pot metal and snapped off while I watched the hood flip backwards. Thanks Whirlpool. Have a helper. 3) Don't be afraid to bang the heck out of the drive axle. (Hence my hammer comment). It is a tight fit. And that goes with reinstalling it. 4) When using the press tool you will feel it "give" a little when the bearings are set. I tightened, backed out the tool a little and gave it another go. 5) Had to laugh when my stator was cracked. Placing that back on isn't exactly a fun job. It is heavy and watch the orientation of the "washers". They are keyed, otherwise it will cause interference issues with the plastic shroud and rotor. Make sure the drive shaft is pounded in and don't over tighten the ring nut. Otherwise you will need to tilt it back to expose more threads. 6) And finally, the seal. The most important part. Grease it up. I used the glue as well unlike the recommend post but so far so good. Don't hammer it in. Use your thumbs. Trust me. I've done this twice.

Updated!
Update: Well after 6 months, I had a rocket ship in the laundry room again. Pretty sure the bearings provided in the kit are inferior because I got 5 years out of the original ones. It was disappointing listening to the machine grow louder and louder by the day. It's not a hard repair, but not something I anticipated doing twice in a years time. Thankfully I had another kit on hand so I drug the machine to the garage and fixed it again. I doubt I will get 6 months out of these bearings too. They already seem noisy so we'll see what happens. Maybe next time I'll order direct from Maytag since I already have the tool... First package came beat up and opened so I contacted the seller. I wasn't sure if anything was missing and wanted to make sure I had everything I needed before downing my washer for several hours. Seller was prompt to respond and sent me a complete new order for free. Impressive customer satisfaction! Directions were straightforward and easy to follow. I did find a YouTube video specific to my model so that helped also. Word to the wise; don't expect the drum to just slide out. I had to beat the driveshaft through the tub with a hammer to get it free. After that, install was a breeze. Overall, good kit for this project. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic so I had ample tools and knowledge to help me but your average DIY fixer could do this too.

This kit works very well.
Something you should know up front..... I have over 30 years of professional mechanical experience. I did the job by myself with no assistance. There are a few videos online you can watch on how to perform the job. Not all models of machines will be exactly the same so expect some slight variations getting in and out. This took me a couple hours to complete from start to finish without rushing. I would say average Joe with mechanical aptitude and a non professional it will probably take anywhere from 3 to 7 hours to complete the job. Here are a few tips I will share: 1. Make sure you have all the basic hand tools before starting. (mini sledge hammer or equivalent, screw driver set, a couple size channel locks and crescent wrenches, vehicle scissor jack, tape measure, skill saw + a 2x4) I personally recommend having a screw gun and an impact gun with a deep socket to save time on tear down. 2. Throw the sealer away and use an automotive or marine grade silicone to adhere the seal to the tub. Permatex Ultra Black or Grey is fine. 3. Make sure you "tap" the bearing installation dies with a hammer and punch when final seating the bearings to make sure they seat all the way quickly and easy. You do this to help ensure the bearing alignment is correct so the driveshaft will install quickly and easily. You can use WD-40 or equivalent on the tub before installing the bearings, just make sure you clean off all residue with brake cleaner on a towel once bearing installation is complete. 4. Lube the driveshaft with a little bearing grease before installing. 5. I recommend non professionals to have an assistant/second pair of eyes/problem solver on site at the time work is to be performed. 6. Don't forget to pre-purchase and replace your water hoses at the same time and possibly your angle stop valves if they are needed. You will know if they are crusty or hard hard to turn/frozen. Finally, I will say that the "quality" of the bearings is NOT top of the line..... but they work and the machine that sounded like a weed eater is now "SILENT". It's actually so quiet I do not notice the machine is running. I forgot what it was like so this actually felt like a bonus.

**UPDATE** Initially Worked But Conked Out 3 Month Later
For months, our washer was making a very loud droning sound when spinning. My wife advised of also seeing error codes at times. We just ignored the issues and noises because not ignoring it would cost us money. Then lo and behold, wife tells me that water is leaking from the bottom of washer. Found that once washer was spinning around, water from underneath was shooting everywhere! Dirt, gunk, and grease stained the laundry floor directly beneath washer. Looked online at possible problems and determined the tub seal was the issue. Found a Youtube video that explained the process. The man in the video started by saying, "This is an easy install." Let me forewarn all of you... this is NOT an easy install nor is it for anyone who is impatient, weary, or easily frustrated. You also need a little muscle. The hardest part of it all is removing the drive shaft and bearings. The man in the video makes it look rather simple but mine were stuck on tight. It took a whole lot of time, WD40, chiseling with a screwdriver, and heavy banging with a hammer to get those bitches off! It literally took me several days before I was able to do it due to stopping out of fatigue and frustration. In between the time of me trying to get it off, I called a repairman who said they would charge $250 for labor + $87.50 service charge so I declined. Even went to Home Depot and thought about buying a new washer but the one my wife wanted would've set me back $950. So I got my mind back in the game and was able to free the shaft and bearings. After you get those things off, you're home free! Changed out the part and the washer works perfectly! No noises, no leaks, and clothes clean! While you're in there, be sure to clean out your filter and clean out tub. When finished, you feel on top of the world! This is a man's repair so wimps need not attempt. Long story short, this is not an easy fix but believe me, you can do it! There are several Youtube vids on it. Be sure to find the appropriate one for the washer you have. Once you find the right one, follow the instructions intently and you can do it! Buying this part saved me hundreds of dollars! I want to kiss that white man with the curly hair on the Youtube vid for helping me out! Just a lil pissed that he claimed it was easy but I've totally forgiven him! *****UPDATE***** The replacement worked and lasted about 3 months before it conked out on me and reverted back to what it was doing before. Water shooting out of the bottom of the washer. Unsure why but being as though I spent lots of time and energy on it, broke down and went to Home Depot and bought a new washer. For those interested, I'd still give this a try but it didn't work for me.

Always get more information!
Super great price! But you got to know what you are doing! No paperwork or information in the box with your parts. I found a good You tube video from appliance parts and fixed the washer in 2 hours. Yes I would buy again.
