I only use aluminum free deodorant, but it can be tricky to find one that works well. This dove deodorant has exceeded my expectations! For starters, scent is what dictates whether I buy a deodorant or not. I wasn’t sure which scent to get when exploring the dove deodorant online, but I nevertheless went with my gut and chose the rose mist option. I am so glad that I did!! The moment it arrived and I opened the deodorant, I took one whiff of the scent and I absolutely fell in love with it. It honestly smells like pure luxury. I am so thrilled that Dove nailed the scent, and that I chose the correct one. The rose mist scent does not smell overpowering or too florally (which is what I don’t like). It just smells so clean and fragrant, kind of like the scent you would smell at a luxury hotel lobby. The texture of the deodorant is also smooth and comfortable! It rubs on so easily and does not feel sticky or heavy. Like with any non anti-perspirant, even other brands I’ve used, these aluminum free deodorants lets your body do what it needs, which is to sweat. This does an excellent job letting my body do what it needs to do but that the scent covers any hint of bad odor! So far, I haven’t had any issues with this but I will update this if I do. The whole deodorant itself feels like a traditional aluminum deodorant wherein the deodorant stays compact, sturdy as you roll on, and keeps its shape after use. Other deodorants crumble but this does not! Overall, I highly recommend the Dove aluminum free deodorant. It is absolutely amazing, and I am so happy with the rose mist scent because it is exactly what I was looking for. I now feel so clean and above all, I love the way I smell with this on!! Very happy with this!!

The deodorant is nice but I hated the smell

First, I have been using deodorant without aluminum for years. I have used Arm and Hammer Essentials, Native, Tom's of main, and I just tried the Dove product (which is what I am reviewing). This review is for those who have used the other products and wonder how Dove compares. First off, I love the texture of the Dove--it is probably my favorite of all the brands, though it is most similar to Arm and Hammer. It is soft enough to go on easily, without out being squishy. Tom's of main is much softer, and almost feel sticky to me, while the Native brand is hard, and feels like you are putting your skin onto it instead of the other way around. I did not have any skin irritation or reactions to the Dove (or any of the brands). I got "rose mist" scent, which smelled like rosewater. To be honest, I prefer the Native scent in the bottle, but somehow it doesn't "wear well". The Dove actually smelled better after a couple of hours on my body, and it does last, so I am very pleased with that. The packaging is a little different from the other brands: it has a little less deodorant in the bar, but there is a bigger hollow area at the base, so it looks long and skinny. Overall, I would definitely purchase this again as a good aluminum free option.
