I love the sound of it when it opens, I love how it feels although it is rather heavy, the only part I don’t like is that the material will rip because of the heaviness of the fan. If you open it wrong you can also tear the fan. This is a good purchase if you don’t mind it being heavy.

This item is absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully crafted and sharp. Larger than expected, longer than my forearm when folded and larger than my full arm when opened. Great value for the price, will definitely be buying another one.

5/5Though I should point out that this is metal, and I dare say it is almost Battle Ready. So just be careful with it; I got a good thwack across my arm during practice with it. It was sore for a few days.

The media could not be loaded. I did not like this product it’s very flimsy and came broken so I had to hot glue it which left bumps from were I put the glue although I will say the design is pretty kinda see through but it’s not a big deal if you are purchasing this as decor definitely recommend but if you are purchasing it for use don’t waste your money I bought it for me to practice training with Japanese war fans and I already had one previously off Amazon that I love but I couldn’t find it and this seller had a very similar one that I thought looked even better so I got it and when it came in the cloth was ripped of one of the metal pieces which I wasn’t really worried about cause obviously when training with it it’s probably gonna get ripped of a few times but it’s so flimsy that it’s gonna break completely if I use it so I’m just gonna have to use it as decor and buy another one later

Nice large fan. Very distinctive pop as it opens. A few points on qualityThe nylon fabric is sturdy, however it is poorly cut and a bit ragged. With use I expect to have to remelt the edges to keep it from fraying. The glue used to hold the fabric to the spines was poorly applied and I expect to have to repair it after use.The metal splines are nice and sturdy with the exterior splines being heavier and thicker giving it the weight needed to snap open. The splines are not the same size and poorly finished resulting in rough edges that others complained about.The rivet that holds it all together is a weak point that I also expect to replace. They use a weak pop rivet that will eventually break. When it does I will replace it with a metal grommet and a solid rivet.The pattern painted on the material was obviously still a bit wet when something was set on it and left a design imprint on part of the wet paint.Basically it is a mass produced item with poor quality control, that has good potential that falls short due to cheap labor practices.Given that, I would advise caution buying this item. The lack of quality control from my observations and those of other buyers, suggests that you really don't know what you're going to get.With a little work I can make mine fairly nice. I may end up replacing the nylon when I rebuild/refinish the metal splines.

The media could not be loaded. I have only used this fan a handful of times for practicing a taekwondo demo, and it looks like I’ve used it every day for months. The fabric is tearing in multiple spots. I’ve had to tape one spot already. The design is wearing off. The blades are bending.Some of the other ladies in the group have had this same fan for a long time and theirs isn’t doing this.
