Dow Filmtec suck
Returned 1 because the package wasn't sealed correctly. I Installed the other and like my other Dow Filmtec membranes I bought the previous year, this one just failed again. This is the 2nd time I have been burned by Dow Filmtec membranes. I will never buy these membranes again, they used to be good but I heard they changed manufacturers a couple years ago. My original membranes lasted 5yrs and still worked better, I wish I never replaced them!

Same as the water maker sells
The same membrane I can purchase from our water maker manufacturer at a much better price, most importantly it was in my hands in 4days when we stopped in Puerto Rico.

It worked, but not for long.
Looked well made and put out 80lit/hr for about 3 months then it started dropping. After 9 months it was only putting out 50lit/hr. Wasn't sure if it was the pump or the membrane. Changed the membrane to the Applied Membrane - my last membrane - and that started out making 100 lit/hr so it was the membrane, not the pump. Both membranes put out high quality water and to be fair the 9 months the Dow was working was one of the wettest periods in history where we were and the water pretty silty. Still we changed the prefilters religiously and when I removed the Dow membrane it looked clean enough.

Something is not right with these membranes…
I have to add to the “there’s something just not right” with these membranes. We’ve had ours installed for just about a year. My last membrane was 9 years old and slowly crept up from the 175-250ppm range to make water in the 400-500ppm range so bought this new one. Purchased Nov 2023, but installed in May 2024. The best water we’be seen is in the high 200ppm and now it’s consistently between 395-460+. Prefilters are regularly changed and we’ve been in the Bahamas waters for the most part. Just disappointing - guess we’ll be buying a new membrane like all the others. Manufacturer should respond to all these issues…

Ensure you lube the O rings first before attempting to put the replacement in.

Defective
I ordered these membranes in January an went to install them this past month. After installing them, my PPM was extremely high for brand new membranes - it was actually worse than my old membranes I had. I have a dual membrane water maker, so I took readings from each membrane individually. It appears that only one membrane is defective and producing high PPM water. I tried to find where to contact the Seller, Water Anywhere, on Amazon but was redirected to generic Amazon support. Because the return policy is only 30 days, I now have to order a new membrane, and not from this same Seller since it appears their customer service is non-existent.
