It bridges introductory modern physics and full-blown undergraduate nuclear physics. Easy to read with examples. Would have befitted from more editing.

This book has an ancient appearence and is not for modern students. Any student who is used to words that pop out at you from the page will want to throw this book in the bin and buy the new editon. I bought the first edition because it came in a hardback whereas the second edition does not, big mistake. Do not buy this ancient text. Write to the publisher and request that the new editon be made into a hardback. The new edition is easy to read, aside from the poor use of the english language by the author, and is a good introduction to nuclear physics.
