will this device work on linux ubuntu?

As an FTDI-based serial adapter, this works just fine under Ubuntu and most other linux distributions as the drivers have been included in the linux kernel since version 2.6.

Will driver work in Windows 8.1 / 10? Using it for RS422 TXA- (1)TXB+ (2) / RXA- (6) RXB+ (7)?

I don't know. I used this device in a development project for a client. I used it with Cygwin on a Windows 7 system and on a RS485 bus to which I had attached multiple devices. It worked flawlessly in this respect. No clue about RS422 or later Windows releases.

I need for a 2 wire PTZ security camera, what will work that has a usb connection? This is driving me crazy. PLEASE HELP

This unit is ONLY for USB to RS-485 connection, however, it will handle a 2 wire connection. I'm not sure what drivers a PTZ camera needs, but you should be able to find them on their website.

Can I use 2 of these converters on one Windows 7 computer (using two separate USB ports) to do a loop back test?

I haven't done it myself, but it should work fine. I have one of these. Once installed, the device appears to Windows 7 as a serial port device. If you install two of them, they will appear as two separate serial ports.You just need to make sure to wire them up appropriately.
