The starter kit had everything needed to START a "crab-i-tat". If you intend to keep crabs, you will need to buy other stuff and a tank when possible, this is meant to be temporary. Reading past reviews, I was worried my crabs would show up dead or sick or die soon, so I ordered this and also extra crabs from the same buyer. ALL EIGHT CRABS ARRIVED ALIVE. Not sure if they are all still alive because they burrowed under deep sand my Husband had in the huge tank he bought, however one crab has come up and doing very well. Overnight tracks/holes indicate very active, multiple crab movement(we plan to get a night camera). It is NORMAL for crabs to burrow for up to 3weeks, so I'm sure others will pop up soon! Keep in mind that you are buying live pets ONLINE and they are being SHIPPED IN THE MAIL to you. And also that this is a temporary STARTER kit. Like I mentioned above, all EIGHT crabs ordered arrived alive and very active! If any died, it will/would be due to personal negligence/inexperience after arrival. The owner also included extra shells with each crab and one crab had a gorgeous pearl color shell! Very pleased, my Husband loved his gift!!!

thank -you so much I love them they are so lively. I just hope they get along with one another. I now have three in a 29-gallon fish tank and keeping my eye on temp and humidity. I just wished there was ocean salt water, I have well water here and I do have fish and don't need the tap water treatment. The two extra shells could have been bigger these are to small for the crabs I got. I will be using the tank I think for goldfish or some other kind of fish for my granddaughter. Thank-you again

This entire setup was a complete joke. For starters, it took a FULL WEEK to arrive. Sure enough, BOTH crabs were dead. In addition to receiving my dead crabs, their conditions were poor. One crab was missing a leg, the other crab had a big chip in his shell. The plastic enclosure is pretty small, it didn't include half the supplies necessary for a healthy environment. While the food shell dish looked fancy, it's sloped on a weird angle making it awkward to hold food and especially water. Nowhere near enough coconut fiber was provided, and overall the only thing that seems to be worth keeping were the molting shells. I'm more sad about the conditions of these poor crabs. It makes me wonder how many have died or arrived injured to other customers. Definitely a mistake. Will not be buying again.

I was thoroughly surprised to see all of the contents on this, hermit crabs specifically, arrive healthy and well! We couldn’t find hermit crabs anywhere for our 10 year old after a season end beach visit and this did not disappoint. Its been a week and crabs are still alive, fairly friendly, and they seem happy eating the food provided. Nice size crabs, extra shells and everything you need to set up the habitat. Aquarium tank is a little small so I don’t recommend anymore than the two crabs that come included, but all in all, very good kit.

We just received our hermit crab kit today( about an hour ago from time if this post). The hermit crabs are alive and healthy. One is missing part if his leg but it will grow back when he molts. The grow shells are too small. I know that the tank they send is not anywhere near adequate for one hermit crab, let alone two. I honestly bought this kit as I wanted two more hermit crabs and I wanted a container I could temporarily put them in when I do the 3 month hermit crab deep clean. Instead of just any bowel I can find. I wanted something that would be just for the hermit crabs while I clean their tanks. The tank is missing its handles but it does not affect anything. It is still usable. It is a good little tank to use while quarantining or cleaning your hermit crab tanks. I like the food they sent and the shell tree thing they made as it gives my hermits more to climb on along with the piece of wood. I will be buying another kit from this company again. They did give good information on hermits. The only thing wrong was that they said you could have three hermit crabs in this kit. All in all I and my son are very pleased.

aquarium and some accessories good, the food and water shell bowl leaked, don't buy if you live in a cold climate products says you should only have it shipped if weather is over 45 degrees. I made a mistake and it arrived when it was 25 degrees so one crab was dead, the other one died a few days later. May have lived if I ordered in the summer.

The 2 Hermit Crabs that came with the kit were lethargic and inactive and only lived about a week. If the crabs DO live, the kit is actually too small, they need a bigger enclosure, and the substrate included is not enough to provide for the crabs' needs. At the time I purchased this kit, I also purchased a third individual hermit crab from this vendor. THAT crab is the only one that arrived lively and in good health. I still have him and bought 2 more from a local pet store to replace what died.. If you want to get Hermit Crabs, you're better off purchasing an extra large keeper or 10 gallon tank and buying/making your own substrate for them. Turns out Hermit Crabs require about 3" of substrate, this kit provided maybe a half inch. So I wound up buying a bigger keeper and supplies separately AND 2 replacement crabs for the ones who died shortly after arrival.
