9 inch Banneton Bread Proofing Basket, Sourdough Brotform Natural Rattan Basket for Bread Baking - Includes Cloth Liner & Premium Dough Scraper

Although sourdough baking websites claim that a banneton is not necessary, this proofing basket has definitely improved the results of my loaves. I had been using a stainless steel bowl line with a tea towel dusted with rice flour, but I found my loaves a bit more difficult to score and did not get the oven spring and rise that I wanted. Instead of using the liner included with the basket, I used a tea towel. My resulting loaves have been amazing. I think that this basket allows the dough to “breathe” and wick away excess moisture. (I still either cover my basket with plastic wrap or place it in a large ziploc bag (a 4-gallon size) when doing my overnight retard in the fridge.) I found my loaves easier to score and the rise and oven spring of my loaves have improved dramatically. I will always proof my sourdough in a banneton.

Use the bannetion proofing basket almost everyday. Works like a charm

Very good product overall. A few things to note: I did not realize that the seller is in China, or that it was shipping from China. Not a problem really, but it delayed shipping significantly. It did not come with the silicon scraper pictured. Instead, It came with a cheap, white plastic scraper that looks nothing like the picture. It does the job ok, but it is not the high quality product I was expecting. It's a bummer since I choose this set because it came with good look bowl scraper.

I've been baking bread for several months and had just been using a regular bowl for proofing. I have only used my new basket once so far, but the dough proofed perfectly and I will be using it all the time in the future. I carefully followed the included instructions for prepping the basket a day (or more) ahead of my first bake to help ensure the dough wouldn't stick during proofing. I think this part is key for using the new basket for the first time, so I would recommend holding on to the instruction card after you remove it from the basket. It also has the cleaning and care instructions so I plan to keep it on hand for the future as well. I then added a little more flour right before putting my dough in the next day, and even after an overnight rise in the fridge my dough released easily with no sticking at all when I turned it out. The included silicone bowl scraper was also a helpful bonus. Several of the baskets I looked at were more expensive than this one, so I was really happy with the value after seeing how well it worked. I would definitely recommend it as a great value, with the note to follow the instructions that come with it.

I've researched and read review after review and finally settled on this one from Cozyful. It arrived in perfect shape and had clean lines and and form. All of the staples were well seated and there are no slivers at all. We used it once and the loaf it proofed and produced was excellent. We had a high hydration loaf and it released easily from the banneton and retained its form throughout the bake. The cloth cover is well made and we did not use that except as a cover. I'm very pleased with this purchase and if I purchase a loaf shaped banneton it will be from Cozyful.

These look ok. I just opened and no instructions were provided which contrasts to what other reviewers experienced. They also look different than in the pictures, no logos and no measurement text on the scrapers. The bannetons themselves have a strong smell to them. I washed them and will let them sit out out for a while to see if smell dissipates. I am giving this 3 stars for now due to their condition on arrival. I will the update the rating up or down later depending on if the smell dissipates.

New to sourdough bread baking, bought these baskets and my breads look amazing. (taste great too) The little scraper is a great tool as well to help release sticky dough from mixing bowls.

I'm new to bread making, so I went to YouTube for tips. Found out that a banneton was a useful tool when proofing sourdough, so I purchased this one from Amazon. It came right away and in good shape. I really like that it came with a heavy duty silicone dough scraper, too. It retains the moisture which helps the rise. The dough releases best if you use rice flour. The company emailed me a couple times to let me know it was on its way and again to see if I was happy with it--that's great customer service!
