desertcart.com: Suicide Squad Vol. 1: Kicked in the Teeth (The New 52): 8601404325618: Glass, Adam, Dallocchio, Federico: Books Review: Loved It - I have been pretty eager to read this one since way back when I first started the New 52 as the SS or Amanda Waller would pop up here and there in the other series I was reading and I didn't have a clue who she/they were. I absolutely loved this!! It was really creepy and with a team of bad guys has stuff going on that you just don't normally find in a superteam book. I must say I am fond of team-ups but since I didn't really know any of these guys except for Harley Quinn as she's appeared in the Batman books I've read to date I wasn't sure how they'd go over with me. It was a bit tough getting used to who was who at first but characters started to stand out and by the end of the book major players are certainly prominent in my mind now. What's pretty cool, but disconcerting also, is that being villains under threat of death for not complying you never know when a team member is going to end up dead and that really changes the dynamics of a read compared to you're usual superhero team when you know everybody is going to be okay unless word gets out somebody "major" is going to die! These guys are viscous though and I have a like/hate feeling for them. The King Shark/Yo-Yo thing really creeped me out!! Harley certainly comes out on top as the main character here and I'm so thrilled to get her complete backstory presented here with her romance with Joker and change into Harley. Also glad to have the extra bits of the Joker's face story added to that whole arc, which I've read, but these little details were missing. Now to find out just exactly how Joker gets his face back, what is up with this Basilisk group and who will comprise the Suicide Squad on the next mission. I purchased the ebook of this when the $1.99 sale was on but I'm fully prepared to continue to buy this series. I think I could possibly like it along the lines of JLD. I guess I like the dark themes and plots! Review: A really fun book! - This book contains the first seven issues of the New 52's Suicide Squad. I found it to be extremly entertaining and a fun read. It is defenitly for adults, as there is some strong sexual situations, and this series is one of the more violent in the DC universe, with people getting eaten alive or ripped into two. Many people die in this series in amazingly terrible ways, I cant help but love it. I felt this book is less about the actual missions, and more about the interactions between the squad. It takes a uber-mega-boss to get the Justice Leauge together, and then all the focus is on defeating the bad guy, but this series is more focused on the teams needs and personalities. I really liked getting to know more about Deadshot, and the relationship between Harley Quinn and the Joker (Chick is crazysauce!) A overall fun read, and I would and have, recommended this book to my friends. Amazing art and a story full of twists and turns is a great combination!

Very satsifying action pecked story lead by interesting and well developed characters
The first volume of Suicide Squad, was satisfying story and a lot of fun from beginning to end. The writer takes these interesting characters and put them in interesting situations, the way he handles them and has them interacting each with each other made the book all the better for it. It was all done, and satisfying for me as a reader who never picked up or read a suicide squad story. The book takes the time into focus on the interaction and relationships between these characters, while developing these characters, and establishing them on their own all the while telling a fun and action packed comic from start to finish. The book doesn't try to hard to change these characters and make them out to be who they aren't which can be concerning when writing a book about a bunch of bad guys as protagonists and people you root for but at the same time the book isn't afraid to show a different side to these characters where you usually don't get when they are simply being portrayed as the villains in the heroes story which fleshes out these characters and make them all the more interesting to read and follow. I recommend picking these up if you are simply interested in these characters,or even just simply looking for a fun action packed read, with some twists and turns. The writing is solid, with some impressive moments and dabs of compelling themes and some thought provoking moment. The art is great, very beautiful to look at. Really impressed how they handled the art. It takes a second to get used to but it quickly works very well with context of the story and gets better throughout the story. The book definitely finds some momentum towards the end making the following issues all the more exciting to see where they go with this series. I definitely plan on continuing with this series, it was well worth it and I recommended picking this up if you looking to get into the Suicide Squad, its a great place to jump on for the Suicide Squad and comics in general. I can't imagine you'd be disappointed reading this book. It's a lot of fun and it follows interesting and well developed characters. Definitely something to look into.

Escuadrón Suicida es un título clásico dentro del universo DC. Este recomienzo dentro de los nuevos 52 está bastante bien. El formato kindle no es el mejor para leer cómics, pero tampoco es un desastre, cumple con su función y basta.

I bought this trade as a Kindle version due to it’s remarkably cheap price and as an experiment to see how graphic novels transfer onto the Kindle, - a new experience for me. I am very impressed. The panel-by-panel reading experience is a joy and if anything actually enhances the reading experience adding a cinematic quality. Clearly this is helped by the clear defined and accomplished artwork on show here. Some of the dialogue effects (El Diablo’s) become a little indistinct but it’s a minor issue. I’d recommend comicbooks on Kindle without hesitation. (Can anybody explain why I can’t get Marvel comics on Kindle via Amazon.co.uk?) Contents wise I loved this collection. The concept should be a one-trick-pony but interest and involvement is kept up throughout, this is a quality and engaging product. I give credit for there being 7 issues contained in this collection too. I will be back for more, I can’t give a higher recommendation.
