REVIEW AFTER SEVERAL YEARS OF USE. NO BS
I've had mine for years. I walk with a cane anyway so having this "heavy hitter" handy suits me fine. It has warded off numerous loose dogs threatening my Bloodhound, ended several road rage incidents, and thwarted one not so strong arm robbery. Oh yeah.... it helps me get around too. I highly recommend buying longer than you think you need and slowly cutting it down until it's a perfect fit. I bought a 39" and it is cut to 37.25 right now. I want a another about 60" too. Some Day. It's HEAVY, HARD and HANDY! When you eventually replace the tip use a crutch tip, they have good grip and last a looooong time.MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!THE REAL ONES (MADE IN TEXAS BY TEXANS) ARE VERY HIGH QUALITY AND YOU CAN FEEL IT THE MOMENT IT HITS YOUR HAND.UPDATE: even more years later... I still love it. It's still beautiful. It's still well made and it is still effective. This is the perfect example of why to buy products made in America! Quality quality quality! Overtime you pay much less then having to buy the same product over and over again because it was low quality. Buy quality the first time and you won't have to buy it again!

The Bubba Stik is AMAZING!!!!
I don't have time to review all the products I buy on Amazon, but I had to give the Bubba Stik 5 stars. It's for my husband who recently fractured his hip. We first went with a standard cane from the drug store and it just wasn't getting the job done. So after looking several canes on the market we decided on the Bubba Stik. First of all, it's very solid and has a substantial feeling without being heavy. Most important is the brass handle. His doctor recommended he have a ball shaped handle for the best control. The Bubba Stik not only has that, but it's tilted at an angle so he gets that perfect grip. It's also very attractive, expensive looking and made in the USA, which are all great pluses. The look definitely makes him feel less handicapped. All in all the Bubba Stik is perfectly balanced and reliable, giving my husband the confidence he needs to get around without worry of falling and re-injuring himself. We couldn't be happier with our purchase.

Solid
Very nice and solid. I use it to defend against my huge grumpy Nubian buck who wants to butt me.

Mi Knew kane :)
delivered fast, good weight/feel/color and texture. only thing and not major, the brass handle doesn't lay flat where mounting screw is. besides that beautiful. Door knob brass handle has significant weight, and angle, good for defense, with a solid Red Oak body, gives a fair balance, for walking, or have you.

Looks great, is durable
If it has one flaw, I'd say it is having the brand, a rather loud and unsubtle appellation, emblazoned on the shaft. I cover the BUBBA STIK name by winding twine in circles around it in a tight, orderly way, and you can put plain old glue under the twine so you don't need to re-twist and tighten it every day. I did not glue it on mine, and tighten it periodically, like worry beads I guess. The twine provides an interesting texture, and an extra grip in that location, and it's sort of like taping a baseball bat. It has a rubber stopper on the bottom, and I'm tall so I don't need to cut it down any as some folks may. I weigh about 250 and have pushed substantial weight down on top of this safely. If I have to be injured so badly and convalescing with such a thing to hold me up, I could do much worse. Even uninjured, having this is probably a nice way to keep the rif-raf walking on their merry way. The brass head has some density to it. Well made. Peace!

My workhorse at home cane
My fancier canes go to work and out on the weekends, but my bubba stick is everything I do at home. It’s as sturdy as they get. I did stain mine dark brown with Minwax stain cloths and that made the brass hame stand out and look nicer. I use mine with the handle facing forward and that gives it the perfect angle on your palm. Doing that causes the cane to swing forward on its own by simply picking up on it. It’s a great walking stick and should last forever.

way better than i thought
the wood is darker and really good looking the engraved "bubba stick" is more discreet. the head of the cane is really nice with a luster. its also heavy enough to knock the living stew out of someone especially if the cane is swung from the bottom. i'm telling you that horse collar deal at the top is heavy and shiny and really cool. it makes my daughter feel a little more empowered to know she has a semblance of a weapon. she only goes out with me and is a little unsteady. this is an enhancing and very pretty tool to help with balance and confidence
