Review: Simple & to the point explanation - It's a great book, and the triangle concept is real easey to learn & practice . Thank you Dear Mr. Peterson, although he is in heaven now. But he has left a great work for enthusiastic photographers. Review: Excellent book but DON'T buy Kindle edition - I am starting with manual photography and every page of this book gives a new insight. Highly recommended for anyone who is starting with photography. Only mistake I made was buying it's Kindle edition. You won't be able to appreciate the photo examples on a black-and-white Kindle. I was forced to read this first on my smartphone (not recommended as you will have to zoom each image to appreciate it) and then on Kindle cloud reader. Need less to say that I can't/don't want to carry my laptop along with my DSLR everywhere I go for practice. Thus will highly recommend Hard copy instead of Kindle version.

Starting with Photography? Go buy this book !
If you are getting started with photography, and are searching for a good starting guide to the concepts of light, aperture, etc., then, look to make this book your companion. It has some very good explanations of the basic concepts on Exposure, Aperture, Shutter Speed, and others which you would require to focus upon when you get started. This book can help you get a good footing with those areas. May be because I am not a starter, I found this book lagging a few things, that I would have desired it contained. A good book to have otherwise, to add to your photography book collection ! Pros: 1.) The details are explained in simple language, easy for anyone to understand 2.) There are good explanations around lenses, sweet spots, different apertures and their impacts on the image, etc., which can help starters improve their images and gain confidence (I understand how much it helps when there is something which can tell you are not bad, after all !). 3.) Does not have technical details and so makes it easier for novices to use 4.) Good amount of examples provided from the author's travels and workshops on the concepts, also explaining the steps how the image was made 5.) The book is available as a paperback edition for a decent price and has colour images, unlike some others which are mostly copies with B&W images. Cons: 1.) The content could have covered some composition techniques as it would go hand-in-hand with the concepts discussed. This could have given the reader some options to try out when they learned the basices 2.) If it had some technical details, the same could have also proved handy to some more photographers, and folks who have been doing photography for some time and want to improve further. This area/details would serve as some reference 3.) The images used in some cases seem to be like those of novices, this is a let down given to the author's experience and knowledge. The images could have been better and could have also served as an inspiration for the reader to achieve 4.) The book could contain more on-field experiences or points which discussed about where folks go wrong or make mistakes. This could have helped the readers to relate better to the topics when they would be practicing and could use these inputs like a guide or understand them when they read it later.

A great book for learning photography
I have read the ebook version of this beautifully written book. It is a really good book for budding photographers who want to learn about photography. Bryan Peterson easily explains the concepts of ISO, aperture and shutter speed and how they work together to produce beautiful pictures. After reading the soft copy I couldn't help but order the hard copy as well. Five stars for this one. Go for it without thinking once

Best Book for DSLR or Mirrorless camera users
I have been photographing with a good camera since last 4 years. However, the first tip in this book put my previous portraits to shame. It's so good; I've almost read the whole book now. Plan to refer to it again and again for creativity tips. :) The "triangle of exposure" is well explained along with the chapters on Lighting and Flash. The author uses Nikon cameras and lenses. However, you can use the tips on any cameras. This was my first solid book on photography and I'm glad that I made a good start.

Exposure concepts explained well
Yes, this book is nicely written with fine images and explanations. There are many situation explained, from where to take the meter reading to get the correct exposure. Book is written to the point, this does not wastes time. Use of flash is also explained, but it also says to buy one more book dedicated to flash photography by the same author.
