Fantastic translation
Razi’s tafsir is a gem, and this is an excellent addition to the growing corpus of classical tafasir available in the English language. Highly recommended

This is the first (translated) chapter of one of the most important and famous Tafseers in the history of Islam. It is nicely edited and I hope this work will be continued in the nearer future.

Where do I begin - Even if you were to read this 1000x you would only scratch the surface! Definitely one to add to your collection - full of pearls.

I hope they publish the next volume soon. If you are deciding between this and Tafsir Tabari then buy this. In fact do not buy Tabari at all, it contains a lot of unreliable hadiths.

I like the fact that someone has taken an effort to translate this important piece of work However, it is not for the lay. Just too academic for me. It would have been great if the author had penned his views on footnote to impress the relevant points for the 21st century, or even trivia.

An amazing translation of a truly majestic work. Razi is amazing and this tackles the early and arguably most dense and difficult portion of the tafsīr (exegesis). Worth a read for anyone interested in medieval Islamic theology, Qur'an exegesis or Islamic sciences in general. An expert introduction to the complexity of Islamic thought.
