Nutricost L-Lysine Powder 1KG (2.2lbs) - Pure L-Lysine, Non-GMO, Gluten Free

Seems to be keeping the outdoor semi-feral cats healthy. I was having a problem with them constantly getting and spreading colds. They would get all snotted up in the nose and eyes. They would be sneezing and sound congested. They were pitiful. I use 4 grams per gallon of water and it has worked wonders! No more issues. One if the cats decided to use the included scoop for a play toy and lost it. I am now using a teaspoon per gallon. I think a teaspoon is slightly over 5 grams. Somewhere I read to dose them 4 grams per gallon, but the extra gram doesn't seem to hurt. There is about 12 to 15 cats sharing the same bowl, so it is impossible to know how much they actually ingest anyway. I would stay as close to 4 grams per gallon as I could though, just in case. You don't want to hurt the little critters. That is the dosage that seems to work. It mixes very well in water, unlike trying to crush a pill. The size is great! It will last me over a year or two. An extremely economical way of keeping your cats healthy. I always use it as a preventive with each bowl filling. They do not even notice it. If anything, they may prefer it to untreated water. Lol

I have a kitty that has the herpes. Poor kitty. She suffered terribly. I used to crush pills or empty capsules of the powder into her food. You do what you have to do for your family. I had to get more lysine so I jumped on Amazon and started scrolling. This is what I landed on and I’m very pleased I did. The price was great for the amount that’s inside and it’s lasted quite some time. I put some in my tea and juice and can detect no unpleasant flavor so I was able to up kitty’s dose to an amount that has effectively reduced her symptoms to almost undetectable (Knock wood). I will buy this again, someday, when it runs out.

Very easy to dissolve. Very little taste, maybe an ever so slight citrusy taste but barely noticeable. Obviously, the big jug of powder is less convenient than taking a capsule or a tablet, but for the price of a couple hundred tablets you get years and years of product in the big jug.

Debating/researching what brand to buy? I did the same for many,many days on supplements. Read below!I love that Nutricost tests all their products. You can literally contact them, with the LOT# on the bottle and they will send you test results. Why is that important? Many companies for one do not provide tests results if asked, you will usually get ignored or receive a generic response. It is also important because a lot of supplements can have heavy metals/contaminates in them and there is no warning of this.An example would be, almost all Ceylon Cinnamon across the world will have some type of contaimenants no matter what. I purchased some from Nutricost, contacted them about what tests have been done, they asked for the LOT# on the bottle and I received the test results the next day. The tests showed all levels of contaimenants were VERY low / in the range we're the body will not be effected. Many spices have contaimenants so keep that in mind! We tend to cook with them and have no idea.
