This olive oil is the best! The quality for the price is even better. It's the kind of olive oil you can drink and it creates that little burn in the back of your throat so you know it's amazing. The taste is delicious on it's own, in a salad or to dip some crusty bread. I love to cook and I love to eat and I will never buy another kind of olive oil again.

Absolutely worth it, lovely taste

I've been looking for a good olive oil since the big jugs at the grocery store have been more expensive than getting the big jugs online now, and there are more options on Amazon. I've tried Iliada, and that was pretty good, but picked this one up instead as it is from Chania. It is an ideal olive oil, smooth and buttery with that ever so slightly peppery aftertaste to me. First thing I did when I opened it was pour a little in a cup and try it plain. It's reassuring for my health to know that this is the real stuff (PDO) and not cut with some other oil since there's a shocking amount of olive oil fraud out there. This type of spout is a little annoying and the oil can get on the outside of the tin and spill in the top a bit, but that's a problem most brands have with this style of packaging. Makes a very rich fasolakia. Unfortunately with how much I use it won't last as long as I'd like. I wish there was a two-pack with a small discount.

Good oil with some inconsistency, had his oil maybe 4 or 5 times

We are Greek Americans. We very seldom dine in resteraunts and much prefer to prepare all our meals, nearly daily, at home. We learned to prepare authentic dishes from an early age being taught by family. Ingredients are ever so important when cooking Greek cuisine, and olive oil is, of course, the foundation of superior meals. For the past ten years we have used exclusively Mythology olive oil from Crete buying it regularly in 3L cans. There is simply no Greek olive oil superior to this product. I will spare you the time of reading my review of specifically what makes this Greek olive oil the absolute best available. But I assure you that once you have introduced it to your diet you will agree it is truly a "gift from the gods." Let me share a trick. The 3L can is a bit of a challege to pour from. I have learned to punch a small hole in the top of the can and stop it with a small silicon plug which I remove when pouring from the built in spout. Enjoy!

I have purchased Mythology Olive Oil for years. This is a brand one finds at the markets in Crete. I am familiar with the landscape and region where it is produced, and this excellent olive oil allows me a touch of Crete when I am far away. The quality of Mythology Olive Oil is consistent, and I order it on a regular basis. I buy it as gifts. I highly recommend it and its producers. I will continue to order it. But today, 11/12/24, my tin of Mythology arrived significantly damaged, although miraculously not leaking. I commend the company for their indestructable tins. But someone needs to take more care with packaging. I suspect that is on the U.S. side. See photos. I do not rate the product lower because of a badly damaged tin most likely not their fault. I will continue to order Mythology and hope whoever, or whatever, packages it to take more care. See photos.
