Kinda easy to install. Works like new again. I'm very happy with it

Pricey, not the easiest to install.
So, the main device offered on Amzn is generally the imperial blade only and it costs almost $30 to get a different blade that has both metric and inches, which happens to be my preference. The electronic part of the T1 works the same regardless which blade is installed and can be switched to metric even with an inch-only blade installed. Hence, you get visual cues on the blade that complement the electronic readout, rather than new functionality. There are blade cartridges mentioned, but this is plain and simple a steel measurement tape only. The included pamphlet describes the replacement in detail, but the drawings lack a bit of clarity, at least if youâve never done it before. Make sure to follow the steps to every detail, and if in doubt, there is a QR code with videos to clarify what the pamphlet lacks a bit. The latter makes no mention of the calibration procedure. And so I fended up with the display showing â1 mmâ when fully retracted. The calibration procedure is started by holding the unit button for about 10 seconds. (That information is nowhere to be found in the included instructions.) The onscreen instructions are clear and a bit vague at the same time. Mainly how to line up the requested length is only clear in the respective video, certainly not the written steps. As I bought the split blade, it is a bit confusing to only get the option of metric or inches when setting the type of blade. Online it says that either procedure will work. Another issue is apparently the exact execution. After 4 attempts in either unit I still kept ending up with 0.5 or even 1 mm when fully retracted. It wasnât until I very carefully executed all steps and made sure not to overtravel so I didnât have to reverse directions. Whether that was the true reason is unclear, but after doing that I got my coveted â0â on the display when fully retracted. In the end, I like the result, but I am not so sure itâs worth almost $30. Hence the rating.
