I bought this as I'm having a trip to Africa and Porto Portugal within the next week. I tested it at home and works rather well, but we will see while traveling. My recommendation is to make sure you read the instructions as it isn't a receive and start use product. You have to clean the bottle and filter in a certain way. It also explains when a filter is done and needs to be replaced. There is also a slight taste to the water due to th carbon filter, but I feel like it's worth it.

The LifeStraw water bottle is an excellent choice for travelers needing reliable water filtration on the go. As expected, pulling water through the filter requires some effort, but this is a necessary trade-off for its ability to provide safe drinking water. Its slim design makes it easy to store in smaller bottle holders, adding to its portability. The lid screws on, and while the short threading makes it quick to open, the presence of threads at all is something I could do without. A snap-on or alternative closure might have been preferable. Despite this, the bottle remains my go-to option whenever venturing into areas with questionable water quality. The filtration system is effective, and its compact design makes it a convenient travel companion.

This was great. I traveled to El Salvador and never had to worry about the drinking water. Quality is excellent
