I bought this with the idea of using it as an outdoor enclosure for my birds, and it worked out wonderfully. The space is large enough for them to fly around a bit and perch comfortably. The platforms and resting boxes that are meant for cats actually double nicely as spots for the birds to rest. It feels sturdy and secure, and the weatherproof cover really helps keep them protected from rain and too much sun. Assembly took a little time, but once it was up, I was really impressed with how solid it is. My birds are enjoying their outdoor time safely, and I feel good knowing they have the extra space

My husband and I bought this one for our cats. He is a cabinet maker so assembly and some modifications went easily. He says anyone can put it together. It is light enough to have it sit on a base so that its raised level with our kitchen window. But sturdy enough for our cats to jump from the floor (we added a floor) to the platforms safely. Our cats were cautious at first but it didn’t take long for them to get comfortable with it. Going out to bird watch is part of their day now. We are very satisfied with this purchase.

Easy to put together, it took 2 people. Cats love it. Reason for the 3 star rating is because missing one latch, and several pieces of the wood were splintered. For the price to get a product with splintered wood and a piece missing in my opinion was frustrating. But once all put together can’t keep cats from wanting to go in and chill . So I will keep it till it falls apart and then buy a different brand.

I bought this to house an iguana. Upon opening the box I noticed that the pieces seem well constructed. But... I wouldn't put a cat in this thing right out of the box. Let alone an iguana. The stain used smells highly noxious. Presumably toxic. I will follow up as I have more info. I will be using it indoors so I can't give feedback on assembly yet. I'll also let you know how long it takes to air out. As promised. The noxious odor dissipated almost completely within a few hours. I expect it will be gone by morning. 😀 Still oxidizing the VOCs out.

Would love to give it a better review but considering it came with 14 bags of different screws and nails with NO assembly instructions, we have yet to be able to put it together. Shame.

Item didn’t come with all the parts

This was a great purchase for a reasonable price. My brother in law and his son put this together in 3 hours. Be prepared to modify the entrance if you are connecting this to a window. If it isn’t flush up against the house, the catio entrance will need a tube from the window to the catio opening. I bought a 10” outdoor rigid HVAC tube and it worked great. To lock the catio you will need very small locks. Tiny. I used zip ties.
